Well...I am taking the plunge and getting my first centerfire rifle. My range only allows pistol calibers so this is perfect. The one I am getting is a restricted 9mm, I will rebarrel it down the road to make it non-restricted, but I only shoot at the range right now anyhow so it is not a big difference to me.

I was hoping that people would post pics of what they have done with their restricted or non-restricted Storms. I am particularly interested to see what people have done with optics. I did a search in the photos section and here and did not find any substantial collection of them.

Any other tips with this firearm would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

chirp chirp...chirp chirp....just me and the crickets...this is nice, peaceful :)

I will throw another question out there...can someone explain the mag issue? If I get beretta 92fs 9mm mags...is it legal to put ten rounds in?

Get an SMG like the TP-9 or BRS-99. The Storm is a boring and cheapie plastic blowback gun.

When I had a Beretta Storm, the only accessory I truly loved was a brass catcher; I'm at the stage now where I no longer want to police my brass.

The Storm is good because it can be made Non-Restricted and can hold 10rnds legally. Although the TP9 is technically cooler, Canadian laws make it not as cool.

For optics, get a Red Dot; It's not accurate enough to have a scope mounted (i.e. it's just a big pistol and only shoots as far as a pistol).

I had the Zeiss Zpoint (loved it) as well as some cheapy Bushnell Trophies (they worked).

I think a Storm with an Aimpoint Micro would be super hot! If you can get that optic, post pics :D You will instantly have one of the coolest Storms on CGN ;) Otherwise, the Storm doesn't need much.

with tax the micro is as much or more then I am paying for my storm! I have a holo site lying around somewhere, I will try that one out. I also have a 1-4 bushnell that may be a good match.

If you're handy with a dremel and epoxy, buy a longer top rail, take off the bunny ears (dremel cutting disk and a sharp knife is one way) from the upper, and replace the top rail with a one that runs whole length. Just make sure to measure so that you don't take off too much (If you do, you can build the plastic back with a soldering iron).

You will need epoxy to fill in the holes in the plastic where the bunny ears were, and dremel or a drill to drill holes in the replacement rail, so it would mount in place.

You don't strictly even need a replacement rail (as long as you fill in the holes), but it's nicer with a rail that runs all the length of the upper.

Some great stuff there. Thanks! I don't think I am comfortable cutting it down, but some very cool stuff.

How does the storm handle +p? Any one have experience with that?

i put an atn reflex halo sight on mine and pic rails on top and both sides, i use it for idpa with my beretta handgun(the mags are interchangable) and the storm drives tacks at 100 yards. still haven't done the re-barreling yet.

Spoken by someone who has never owned one?....My Storm is in 45acp, and after 1500rds, it has never malfunctioned, and is bloody accurate....The trigger has smoothed out after that many rounds, so It`s not an issue...Next....

It's a crappy cell phone picture, but you get the idea.
This is a 9mm with a non restricted bull barrel. I've put the M21 sight that came with my Tavor on this carbine. It's a good match. The reticle has a 1 moa dot and a larger circle much like an Eotech. The advantage over the eotech is that the base is narrower (quick release version) which interferes a lot less with the cocking handle. With the Eotech I found I had to put it too far forward which threw the balance of the carbine off. Also this sight doesn't use batteries and doesn't have to be turned on.

This set up lets me have the sight further back. Plus I think the lines of the sight and the Storm look cool together. :D

Looks great without the ears, I always thought of cutting off the strap from the pistol grip to the butt. Ever see anyone try that one?
