Practicing mounted shooting, imagine going full speed and shooting balloons from a horse.

At about the 600 yard point of the 1000 yard range taken from the berm.

Picture from the firing line, a 1000 yards of fun.

This year the match is limited to 270 shooters. Michelle Gallagher sent notice in summer to sign up to make sure we got a spot. This is "THE" winter long range match. Last year there was app. 225 shooters and the match continues to grow, I am sure they will fill up. It does not matter what your skill level is, a week or two of shooting here is like a summer at some other locations. You will meet the people you read about and meet the rifle, action, stock builders you order from.
Last year the door prize table was $60,000.oo and it is all about luck of the draw. I came home with a Nightforce scope and a novice Manitoban came home with a March scope and a Hawkeye bore scope. Not even sure how the other Canadians made out. In addition if you place, there are Berger bullets and various medals. Our wind coach took us to a third place FTR team and we set a team 1000 yard record (still not updated on site for 2014). In addition a BC shooter kicked butt in the open division, a TR shooter place very high in the match and others placed in the agg and individual relays. If you have even thought about getting out of the snow pile and having some fun this is the place to go. Just remember Phoenix is bigger than it looks, if you pick a spot on the Southeast corner of Phoenix travel to Ben Avery can be up to an hour each way. Many shooters stay in Anthem which is about 5 minutes away from Ben Avery. Don't shed all your warm clothing in the morning at 7:00 when you squad it can be quite cold but it warms up by PM.
I am guessing we are at about a dozen Canadian shooters confirmed at this point. I will try to do a better job of posting pics than I did at the Nationals. I needed a laptop in Phoenix and did not have one.
It is now time to get your form 6 and register.
