Shooters,
Day two off the Desert Sharpshooters “Duel in the Desert” featured a 3X1000 yard competition yesterday in which we had 43 entrants that represented all four divisions; Any Rifle, Palma Rifle, F-TR, and F Open. Overall weather wise it was a carbon copy of Saturdays Palma match with brilliant blue skies, mild but twitchy winds and unseasonably balmy temps.
In the Any Rifle Division Canadian Ken Nelson and Randy Pike battled to a draw score wise but Ken carried the Division and overall win on the strength of his superb X count. The Palma shooters had an equally tight finish with Rick Curtis, Oliver Milanovic and Mike Kelley, who I might add is sure driving his little .223 extremely well of late, duked it out till the end with Curtis getting the nod by four X’s over Milanovic. Canadian Gerry Wiens led fellow countryman Barry Hamilton by three points to claim the F-TR divisional victory. In the Open division Bret Solomon just edged out Canadian Eric Bisson by a single point to claim that division’s winner’s crown. Full results attached below for your viewing pleasure.
Remember, tomorrow we kick off the hottest ticket in American shooting with a wind clinic that will feature an instructor cadre of some of this country’s best shooters in TR, F Open and F-TR so come on out and join us!
Yours in sport,
Rick Curtis
