Best 1 shot shotgun

Other than opening the action, I have absolutely no idea how to take it apart. Im assuming its difficult as it has an ejector? PS the ejector is absolutely absurd how powerful it is lol

Wayne Mayes one of the best skeet shooters of all time shot a 1400 for his 12 ga event .

He started his skeet shooting career in the early 70's, Model 1400's were made from 1964 to 1968 and were noted for a lot of problems. It was probably a worked over 1400 or a later version (obviously it worked well for him), the latest semi he used was a Beretta and he also used O/U's

I know all about his firearms and what he used the fact is he used a 1400 and I know all about 1400’s I did win’s warranty work for some yrs replaced many parts on them and yes they are mediocre at best .

Yupp I pretty much just started unscrewing stuff...

Unlike the Cooey or Baikal single shots ..... them Sinsinati and many other turkish made single shots have to be taken apart by taking the hinge screw out. You always need a tool/coin to do that. What a pain.

More refined designs (e.g. Cooey 84/840) break apart easily and are better quality at the same price and IMO they handle way nicer too.

For the price of a Henry single shot in Canadian dollars, $600 for blued and $700 for brass frame, you could get a nice 870 Remington or Model 12 Winchester pump gun.
At that price, the Henry makes no sense.
Lots of Cooeys or NEF/H&R single shots around to be able to find one in really good shape. Replaceable choke H&R single shots are pretty thin on the ground, though.
I am not a fan of Chinese made guns, so they would be off my list.

Just buy a Cooey or Remington/CIL single shot... They're so cheap you can get one in every gauge offered and it'll never let you down.

If you want to interchange chokes just get one gun with full, one with mod, and one with cylinder bore and take whichever gun you feel like carrying that day!

Yeah, but none of them come with removable chokes and 18" barrel. Also mine was only $100, you only get a beater cooey for that money.

Edit - Im not sure why ease of disassembly is a big deal. Sure, for the same price I'll take the easier one, but I'd pick screw in chokes over an easier disassembly at the same price. How often do you really need to dissemble it? I've done it once and have no plans on doing it again unless I have a reason to.

I have a little NewEngland .410 single shot that I picked up sometime in the mid 80s. To this day its my most favorite shotgun although it has only full choke. It takes the heads off of trail chickens and is indestructible. Never had an issue in 30+ years.

I have a pumpgun i just prefer the 1 shot to carry on foot. Light, reliable and with a 100$ value i just can give 0 #### about it wich is great lol. Look like i will keep the Derya as for now :) Thanks

What is the best 1 shot shotgun 12ga for bird partridge and jackrabbit. I want it light, wood stock, 28'' barrel with interchangeable chokes maybe? Nothing fancy just something reliable that i won't mind walk in the bush with. I have a Derya now its light but all plastic wich bore me a lot.

Thanks in advance.

Excuse me but why a single shot ? I've shot a 12 gauge single several times and they kick pretty good . if you want something light then find yourself and older Ithaca model 37 and be done with it . they are light and reliable and you have 2 extra shots at your disposal in case you miss and it happens .
