Best 1886 rifle?

What’s your opinion for the best make for an 1886 rifle for hunting? Miroku Winchester, pedersoli, or Chiappa.

have had a pre order in for a miroku 1886 src for over a year, but lately have been looking at the chiappa 1886 nsr and the pedersoli guide master. Italian ones worth the money or should I keep waiting for the miroku?

I love the Pedersoli, Pedersoli rifles shoot great, are well made and you can get a butt stock without crescent butt

Yes, but just harder to find here than a Winchester Miroku.

Saw an add for a turnbull restorations 86. Starting at $1995 usd. Looked flawless in the pic. Dont know which make they use as a base but their work is top notch

They are, mostly. I own a couple of them. Having a couple small problems with the 73, but nothing a new elevator spring won't fix. - dan

A buddy just received his custom Turnbull 1886. Specced it out to match original Deluxe models, with some nice extra touches. Truly a work of art. Based on a heavily worked over Miroku 1886.

From what I’ve seen, the next closest thing is a Pedersoli 1886. They are very nice rifles with legitimate match barrels.

Of course you can always get an original, but one that isn’t well worn is quite expensive. If you want to hunt it, any further wear lowers value in the eyes of other Winchester collectors.

x2. Don't know what all the fuss is about what are all reproductions of the real deal. An 1886 Winchester can still be had for a decent price and WILL APPRECIATE unlike the repros.

I have the Browning '86 Carbine, also not common although they did produce more copies than the rifle. Wonderful shooter with 405gr loads.
