Norinco
Meroh, i am with you.....my norcs are accurate, solid, and fun for the money. I HAVE done a few mods like smoothing out the rails, changing grips and some internal polishing etc. The ONLY thing i do not care for is the finish....at least on the black ones. The matte chrome however, is some tough stuff. I wish we could get them in stainless....although, the steel is 5100 chromolly tool grade. Out of the box they are still good shooters but a little love makes them a fantastic value. I am actually thinking of getting a second np29 and electroplating it in nickel just as a sh...ts and giggles project.

Man and nobody here mentions Joe Dlask, a guy who is revered in Europe for his 1911 custom guns. If you want to go to the best, or as good as it gets for function contact Dlask Arms and talk to Joe. He did up a Norinco build for me when funds were a lot tighter than they are now. I can't shoot a 1911 any better than his build will shoot. The only Norinco parts he used were the slide, frame, slide stop and the grip screw bushings.
If Joe was an American he would be near the top of any of the above lists.

Does he even build them himself anymore? I've only ever handled 1 dlask 1911 and I wasn't impressed at all for the price.
Should have shot it.
