hi
i have both the s&w 22a and the gsg 1911,
got the gsg to do tactical rimbine because or the extra safeties. like it for the weight ,ease of take down, and have heard of excellent costumer support.this gun is a 90% + take on the 1911, price range 375-450 with one mag. mags 30+
on the flip side, accuracy is determined by the top slide, and barrel bushing . mine came with a .060 clearance ( people on the 1911 boards suggest .003 clearance ) on the barrel bushing and a loose slide, paper plate size groupes at 15 yrds. don't put the slide spring in the wrong way
holster .... blackhawk serpa 410503bk
got the 22a as my first pistol so infer a slight bias. like the weight, ease of take down and accuracy , <4" groups at 25 yards. comes with full length rail mount, 2 mags and soft rubber gripes . prices 299-350, extra mags 40$, laminate target grips 75$.
flip side spring is on a new gun is too stiff for bulk ammo, works great for hv ammo, left mine in the lockup with the slide back for a couple day , basically cured the problem
