Meh, a chamfer/de-burring tool makes short work of the primer pockets on crimped brass. I just put the tool into the primer pocket and give it a quick 180 degree spin with some mild-moderate pressure. Presto, the crimp's gone and I get flawless priming. Other than that minor annoyance, Federal makes great brass for the economy shooter. If I had to give up all my IVI brass, I'd probably only use Federal AE brass in my AR15s.
That said, if you want to go with another make, then by all means. The only thing that should really matter is that you stick to the same manufacturer for your brass. Mix-matching is asking for lousy groups at best and a Ka-boom at worst.
