Whats the best one to run thru it, cost not a major issue, id rather know im not ruining it by shooting cheap ammo thru it.

It's an NEA, so anything that goes bang ;)

Seriously though, I would suggest against anything steel cased, it's harder on a lot of parts, and pretty vicious on barrels, so no MFS, and certainly nothing with a Bi-metal jacket like Sellior and Bellot. MFS has Bi-metal jackets and steel cased so I would really avoid that stuff. The best way to see if it's bimetal jackets is to run a magnet over the bullet, if it sticks to it, it's bimetal.

What's the twist rate on your barrel? If it's a 1in7, you may want to avoid some of the hotter loaded ammo like norinco (I chronographed the Norc CJ93 at 3276fps through my NR Swiss), as hotter ammo can wear out faster twist barrels (Like 1in7's) quicker than normal. Besides that, as long as you not a high volume shooter, and we're not talking about 5000+ rounds a year, anything that goes bang should be just fine and likely make little difference.

Best factory load for the price? My fav is the 62gr American eagle. The 55gr is cheaper when you buy it by the 1000 rnd case. Federal Sierra 69gr BTHP is the most accurate but super expensive.

The twist rate on the NEA barrels is 1/7

Im running some Norc they had here locally on the cans 800 rounds, not in yellow boxes but they are wrapped in brown paper.

I ran A E 55grain and seemed ok

Ya see there ya go, the norc is good to go in most cases.

But some (including me) would suggest against running large amounts of hotter loaded ammo like that through a fast twist rate like your 1in7. As I said the norc is HOT (3250 fps on average through my Swiss)

Although a bit more expensive, I would stick with the American Eagle for plinking

Hmmmm ok cool, well imma see what i can find for A E 1000 plus rounds and i will most likely put 300-400 a month down the barrel

If your running that much ammo through it, just shoot the norc man, running that much ammo you'll pay for a new barrel in about 6 months with the savings over AE

Norinco is about 27-28 cents per round while the AE is closer to 44-47 cents per round.

Times that by 2300ish rounds every 6 months according to your count. Thats a fair amount of savings if you buy the norinco

Yeah 2 trips and i have ran 160, i normally run 80 every trip weekly.

I tend to make a decent day out the trip, 223, 12 gauge, 50AE, 45ACP and 9mm avg 500 a trip combined.

NEA has a lifetime warranty so if you shoot out the barrel, they will give you a new one. I shoot both the AE stuff and the norc out of my NEA15 and at 100 yds the AE stuff groups slightly better than the norc but not enough to worry about. Like Sithinside said, the NEA barrels are 1 in 7 twist.

The MFS 55gr HP stuff shoots pretty good out if mine.

I did the math and the cost saving from shooting bi-metal over copper more than pays for a barrel over life of the barrel.

I run a lot of the nork out of mine too, it's great in the cooler months, but when it's a bit warm out (25 deg +) I loose about 1 in 10 primers. This is usually not a good thing..... I have had to tear the rifle in half 4 times to remove primers from the trigger or the BCG, in the last 4 weeks!

Cheers!
