Best .22lr handgun for your buck?

I've got average to a bit bigger than average hands and had no trouble with the norc m93's grip. It was also really reliable (and of course inexpensive). Accuracy was mediocre though.
The rugers are nice pistols, reliable and very accurate like the pic above demonstrates. If you get a mkIII, buy the mag disconnect piece. Improves the trigger a bit and greatly improves how the mags go in and out.

I like the Rugers they are nice to shoot but harder to work on then the Buckmark. My Buckmark is a little fussy about ammo and likes Federal blue box best. I tried out a Neo and thought it's rather odd looking but I shot it much better then my Buckmark.

Same gun my wife has she now is a great shooter with it and won't give this gun up..

The Ruger is often recommended as starter target pistol. Like hey, why spend 800-1,000 on a quality pistol, when a Ruger will perform almost as good.
Browning quit making a world class quality pistol when they quit making the Browning Medalist.
Other top quality 22 semi autos were made by Smith & Wesson, High Standard and Colt. The outstanding Colt was the Colt Woodsman, Match Target model, made in three different generations. Second edition is usually considered the best quality.
I have recently purchased a Ruger Single 10 - Stainless...and absolutely love it. The only issue with it is the ultra-tight tolerance in the cylinder. The cheap bulk .22 ammo will not easily load into the cylinder, but have found that the Federal Champion ammo seats just fine. This single action plinker will give you hours of trouble fee shooting enjoyment.

2- GSG/SIG 1911-22
3- Ruger 22/45 Lite
4- Browning Buckmark URX Camper
5- Smith and wesson 422
6- then some western guns, but you arnt interested in those.
that is my current line up for 22cal pistols.
out of all those i always recommend the Browning Buckmark to people, specially new pistol shooters.
for the $ they are the best.
if you already shoot the full sized M&P then get the M&P22 as a trainer.
if you shoot 1911's then get the 1911-22 as a trainer.
but if your looking for a great to shoot, last you for a lifetime with no headache and is a decently low price then its the Browning Buckmark.
get the one with the nice soft rubber grips and fiber optic sights.
then you will never need to do anything to it.
nothing against the rugers, love mine, but to make it into the same gun as the Browning you need to sink another $80 into it for the fiber optic sights, then another $30 for some Hogue grips - it they start higher priced then the browning, so all in your well over the price of a browning for the same thing.

I'm definitely a Buckmark fanboy, but I've gotta say: tried out the M&P22 a few days ago, and it was a lot of fun. And I was using the cheap American Eagle ammo...

thank you. i really think a nice set of grips make all the difference.
Got 4 Ruger 22/45's now in various configurations. Really fun and easy to tinker with and really reliable. I have a Browning Medalist and some High Standards for serious target shooting, but at least one of the Rugers is always with me at the range.
