Looking for a .22lr that is virtually jam free and easy to clean, and I only plan to buy one for hunting and plinking.
Recently I need to downsize. So I am selling off every .22 I own in hopes to get one, and one only. Im open to semi and bolt.
My budget is about 600 ish.
Nothing is easier to clean and more jam free than a bolt gun. For hunting you want accuracy (bolt gun) more than anything else, and for plinking you want something that isn't a pain (probably want box mags, not single shot, not tube, etc).
You want something relatively light for hunting, but accurate enough for plinking at the longest ranges you enjoy.
Sounds to me like you definitely don't want a 10/22.
With any one gun to suit all needs, you will never have the best gun for any particular application, just a good enough gun that will still be enjoyable to shoot. Any of the Savage Mark 2s or Cz 45Xs with an average length varmint barrel would not disappoint.
