Don't have any experience with Kimber, but from what I read on the Internet, Series II guns are having all sorts of problems with poor quality MIM parts and external extractors.

We had 2 runs of Kimber Pro series guns done. We even ran one on the range. No problems with either MIM parts or external extractors. It might help to realize that Kimber is the largest 1911 manufacturer in the US and has been for quite some time. More guns generally = more problems.
