Have you considered the AIA Enfield in 7.62x39mm?

I have one, but deployed before I got a chance to test-fire it.

Think #5 Jungle Carbine, firing a lighter round so a light rifle with light recoil.

A good combo?

I have a Savage 12FVSS in .223, and it's a very impressive piece. I normally like a blued finish and a nice wood stock, but the black synthetic stock with the stainless heavy barrel seduced me, and it's been a purchase I've never regretted.

I was not aware that they had a rifle in 7.62x39. Poor research on my part. As I mentioned in another response, I also have a CZ bolt action in .17 HMR which is another very impressive rifle.
Looks like there are a couple of good options available.

(P.S. - I also already own a CZ-858, but that's a whole other type of rifle for a whole other type of shooting.)

I believe the Savage is new for this year. Its a scout rifle too.

+1 for the cz527. Mine one-holes the prvi partisan stuff at 100 yards.....what a great gun!
