Best 9mm for a women??

My wife has a couple of favourites that she shoots, the HK SFP9, because it can be adjusted to almost any hand with the included side panels and back straps, and its a laser accurate HK, what's not to like lol. She also really enjoys the FNS9LS, and has put thousands of rounds thru one, nice ergonomics and a grip angle almost identical to a 1911 make it quite a nice gun to shoot, the long slide helps with accuracy. Her other absolute favourite is the M&P 2.0 in .45, I'm sure the 9mm would be just as nice.
My wife has competed with all three, and all are fantastic handguns to start with.
I notice you are in the lower mainland also, once the local ranges open back up to allowing visitors, my wife and I would be happy to take you both out to try out a few handguns at either Abbotsford or Chilliwack, always nice to get some hands on time before you purchase. Good luck in the search, nothing better than your woman wanting to shoot with you :)
Edgy

One she likes. I would shy away from real light.
I think what edgy suggest is great, I like all steel, hate glocks, but lots of people think different.
The ladies that shoot lots know what they like ,and will be good with most guns. new ones don't so nice to try different ones.

Be sure she knows the right way to grip the gun to better manage recoil.

Gripping too low or with the support hand in the wrong position, can lead to excessive recoil movement, and reduce the enjoyment. This can really change her perspective, so be sure she is getting the proper help.

I've compared the "single stack" M 48 clip, with the M 17 Glock magazine, and there is very little, if any, difference in the widths of them.

Yeah, nice try - you haven't compared them - try using a set of calipers next time.

How tall is she?
What sized hands does she have?

Yes, a large framed steel 9mm is best for recoil but only if she can hold it.
My missus is 5ft tall and prefers a smaller polymer 9mm due to grip.

I would go with a M&P 4.25" Full Size. With small grips most women with small hands manage the gun quite well. You can get a Gen 1 for around $450 - $500 off the EE . The guns are dead nuts reliable, manage recoil as well as most guns and are as accurate as most can shoot. I sold my Gen 1 to one of our members whose daughter (age 14) is getting into IDPA shooting and loves hers. The double stack guns are easier to reload as well.

I would avoid the steel guns. They are heavy to be sure but when you are knew to shooting the advantage they provide in reducing felt recoil is lost on the mathematicians notebook. Going to a Shadow11 weighing loaded well over 55 oz. brings on other challenges for new shooters not the least of which is holding it steady at arms length. Go with a lighter polymer gun she will love you for it.

Take Care

Single stack like Glock 48 is a good candidate.

This . Get her to handle one . I’m a woman with what I’m told are completely “ normal “ sized hands and when I handled one it was like a fitted glove . I’ve never liked glocks much but that 48 will be my next pistol purchase ....too bad it’s so fugly .
I’ll also recommend my personal favourite although it’s not a 9mm . Actually it IS a 9mm....Browning , in other words a 380 . Browning 1911/380 . Nice to hold and shoot .

I think the CZ75 family in pretty much any configuration (B, BD, SP-01, Shadow 1) is very well suited.

The smaller grip of the CZ combined with the heavier steel frame make it a soft 9mm shooter that is easy to hang on to.
