I`m in the market for a new 9mm handgun, It will be my first handgun:confused:. I would like to keep my cost below $1000,including $700-800 for a new handgun(magazines) and $200-300 for a set of .22lr Conversion Kit; furthermore, I need such a new handgun:p:
1.there are many parts &accessories of the Pistol in the market which are not expensive. I don`t want to look for some kind of accessories(magazines\ barrel) all around the city in someday.
2.the Pistol is reliable、accurate and suitable for most kind of 9mm ammo(not defective or fastidious).it should be a life long recreation.
3. I will replace 9mm with .22lr barrel(buy .22lr Conversion Kit) in order to training my shooting in first step(for beginner`s cost sake ),maybe I will take part in IDPA for fun in the future.
4.the Pistol is not too heavy、 longer or expensive and it is easy for the thin person to control(reasonable recoil ).
5.the Pistol is legal entirely, for examle: with a barrel longer than 4.14 inches,10 cartridges of the type for which the magazine was originally designed.some lengthened barrels are out of muzzle to comply with the gun law, these Pistols look comfortless.
therefore,I studied the market superficially, and found BERETTA 92fs、Sig Sauer P226 and Glock 17 in my choice.shortcoming of BERETTA 92fs is a bit larger and longer(overall length 8.5 inches) ;Sig Sauer P226 is a bit heavily(stainless frame weight 42.2 oz); Glock 17 is unusually made of the polymer ,someone thinks the polymer handgun need more time to test its security and accuracy.
But I have not been familiar with the knowledges of firearm thoroughly.
so I would like to listen your suggestion .which one I shall choose? or something elsa?if you have better choice, please give me a tip.

Thanks for any suggestion/tips!

Sig and berettas will cost you a lot more than your current budget. I would recommand either Glock or CZ Shadow. Don't discount the M$M either, especially if price is a major factor. Glocks are accurate out of the box, as any other pistols. Feel the grip and make your choice. Many shooters prefer heavier pistols, in particular for slide since in some cases, provide less recoil.

Try some first than make your own mind.

Buy a Norinco NP22 sig clone *AND* a GSG1911 in .22 You'll still have some cash left over for a couple mags. I'd rather have two guns under $1000 than one and a conversion kit. :)

Go try them all. One will fit you like a glove.

But, if you have any sort of class, you'll pick a SIG.:D (kidding, they are all good).

I bought the S&W M&P9 5" Pro Series. The ergonomics are awesome compared to the Glock G22 Gen 4 that I have. I'd rather buy a complete new .22lr handgun than buying a conversion. eg. S&W 22a-1 you can get for $299. Browning Buckmarks, Ruger Mark III for around $350-$399.

thanks .Many people choose "else",what are those??Norincos???Norincos are made in China, and I worry about their reliablity though they are more cheap.someone says that there are little parts &accessories of Chinese handguns in the market.if Chinese handguns are wrong ,please buy a new one directly.truth???

CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow is probably the easiest to shoot 9mm out there. Comes with 3 mags. Then use the leftover funds to buy a used Ruger Mark II Target (bull barrel).

Is this a 1st post for a spammer in disguise? Budget of $1000 for a new sig and extra mags and 22 conversion kit? Come on.

one of the specialists said that the beginner would make great progress in shooting target with 9mm ammo if he used up large numbers of .22 ammo(cheaper) on the same frame(handgun) first.
it is true???

best for what? competition, shooting guys in ski masks who invaded your house? I am a 1911 guy so I would say some kind of single stack in 9mm. Hope it helps. happy shopping.
