Most AR for the money: Norinco (but only if you can have one for < $600)
Best bang for your buck quality rifle that will accept all the goodies and looks good: Stag
I did my homework on ARs before I bought Stag (there was a great post, or sticky, on the available offerings on this forum but I don't know where it went) - Anyway, I went Stag with no regrets.
I'll never give up my Norinco AR either. - It's been completely without problems but for the $770 that dealers want now I'd want something that could take accessories (crap metric threading on Norcs.) and a finish you could "take home to mother".
Edit to add: I just read GreenTips post and I've got to say it makes VERY GOOD sense. Buy from someone who can fix it.
