Finer reticles are not necessarily "better". I have one of those Nikon Tactical rimfire scopes. Range view had them on sale when Nikon liquidated their scopes.
It's got a very fine BDC reticle. But it fades out considerably in afternoon light (lens brightness is good) I had to change black target papers to red color circles on white because the reticle disappears on black/dark backgrounds...
Good scope in terms of tracking, sharpness holding 0 on rimfires, aso but it's not a hunting reticle, IMO
