Like has been said many times before....all MAC's video's are good for is entertainment. He is so far from a scientific qualified test it is laughable. Fun to watch though.
Now that we are talking about real testing......The last most comprehensive pistol test / competition done to date was the Department of Homeland Security testing. Everyone was invited. All the usual companies submitted handguns for testing.
Millions of dollars (tax payer buy the way) and hundreds of thousands of rounds fired. Examples of testing done: Sand chambers to circulate sand on the handgun. Light sand, medium sand, heavy sand. All scientifically measured with recorded results for all competitors. The handguns were shot to destruction. Numerous random samples of each handgun used in the testing. Only 2 handguns finished the testing.....Sig Sauer and HK. As a result they were awarded a join contract for over 40 000 guns initially. At the time one of the largest contracts for guns since the US Military Handgun Trial back in the mid 1980's. The results are protected and Law Enforcement sensitive. So sorry, unless you are employed by a Law Enforcement organization you are not entitled to request the report and if you do must sign a NDA.
Now I love Glock handguns. I competed with a Glock in IPSC before most people on this form were old enough to apply for their PAL. Own one, love them (even though they point a bit high) and they are legendary for finishing + winning extreme endurance testing......but the Glock was not able to finish the DHS test.
Now back to the MAC videos. He must make money doing them and needs to get people to watch them. Don't know him, he seems like a nice fellow but his videos are far from a professional scientific measured test of firearms. A while back he did a video of the HK VP9, where he dunked it in some water then pulled it out and it failed to fire. Within a week there were a half a dozen videos of guys submersing their HK VP9's under water, then immediately pulling them out and firing them successfully.
So the short answer is: I don't need to watch any MAC's videos to learn what the real performance of a firearm is.....or heaven forbid make procurement decisions based on them.
