I am looking for a really accurate pistol $1500 or less for 3 gun competition. Accuracy is the priority.

I've narrowed it down to a CZ 75 variant. So far my top two choices are the CZ 75 sp-01 shadow Canadian edition or the CZ 75 sp-01 Shadow Line.

Any input as to which is a better option, or alternative suggestions, is much appreciated. The small price difference is not a consideration. Thanks for all replies in advance.

Get a regular Shadow, it's no less accurate than the other two you've mentioned and with the money you'll save buy more ammo and practice (which will actually help make you more accurate).

The regular shadow is a very nice package as well and many will say the Canadian or shadowline are not worth the premium. That maybe the case. Regardless, if you can swing it, go for the Canadian over the shadowline. I had one and it had a beautiful SA and DA trigger and was very accurate.

Shadow is a very nice pistol.

Only upgrade that I really want are low profile safeties, because I crowd mine.

I had the cz 85 combat, the sp-01 and the shadow line. All nice and great shooters. I was the fastest with the Shadowline. I found it was race ready out of the box. Didn't have to tweak a thing,..just point and shoot.

I have the regular shadow and for the money I don't think it can be beat. You're paying more for novelty to get the Canadian. If that's what you want then go for it. It's definitely really cool looking. But I would buy the regular shadow and throw on some red grips for it. You've still got like $600 to spend on ammo and accessories/upgrades etc. Either way you won't regret getting an SP-01

Thanks for all the replies. I went with the regular CZ sp-01 Shadow in the end. $850 +tax +shipping from Al Flaherty's seemed good price.

Anyone have a good holster with retention?

Good call. Dlask carries all the springs, hammers, guide rods and grips if you want to upgrade. You'll still end up with a bunch of money in your pocket over buying a Canadian or Shadowline.

I am getting a new sp-01 shadow. What is the default spring it comes with? I am thinking that the default spring is probably fine for Sellier and Bellot ammo? What spare parts would you recommend I get to keep on hand? I will probably pick up a new setoff grips too.

Thanks

I have a 75B special edition, shadow, shadowline and shadowmate Canadian. The shadow mate has a noticably better trigger better fit and is, for me, more accurate than the others, and theyre already darn accurate.

Got all the springs and the metal guide rod from dlask, good advice.

You leave the 13lbs recoil spring factory and definitely get the lighter 13lbs mainspring. Dlask has a great selection of grips while you're at it.

I've shot my cdn edition side by side with the regular and there was no real accuracy difference. That said, I am not getting rid of my cdn shadow anytime soon, and not my regular sp01 either.
