Best eating deer.

good stuff. i'm leaving for my doe hunt tomorrow. here in BC, you need a limited entry draw to shoot a doe.

this will be my first deer. how do you like your does processed? roasts, ground, steaks...?

It is 3 deer/person in Alberta. He must have a partner unless he is doing a CWD cull hunt in which case he still has a few more tags to fill.

This is not necessarily true. This season I have six tags and none are CWD.
Trophy Mule Deer (draw).
General Antlered Whitetail.
Antlerless Whitetail (draw 2 tags)
Antlerless Mule Deer (draw 2 tags)

Haven't had quite the luck of these guys though.
Still to busy pheasant hunting.

Plus you may buy a "supplemental whitetail" tag that good for a doe in most of the province, and it comes with a second tag for the CWD zones (for the most part).

It is not uncommon for guys to get a doe draw with 3 tags. In some / most years if you put in for draws (and you bow hunt for a mule deer) you can end up with 6 draw tags and 4 over the counter tags. If you get drawn at Wainright that year you could add another 3. So up to 13 deer tags, with only one in the CWD zones.

But hey, I am sure there are "lots" of deer in BC. :p

Sorry, just can't help but razz the BC guys.

The way those fresh deer are piled in the truck with the hides on, there is a good chance at least the bottom one, and maybe more, will sour and you won't be able to eat them. The longer they are in the truck like that, the greater is their chance of spoiling.

He said it only took him an hour to harvest, and I am guessing this ain't Chuck's first rodeo in the skinning/butchering department either...

I wouldn't be scared to eat a roast at his house.

I'm sorry, but are you stupid? Seriously.

There is a better chance you're not talking out of your face and haven't the slightest clue how long those deer where in there, what the temperature was that day, and how and when these deer were taken care of. To top it off you're accusing me of doing something illegal, of which I did nothing of the sort, and every last one of them deer will go in the freezer and be eaten.

After bantering on internet forums for 8 years this is the most asinine comment and or accusation I have ever received.

I think you can actually get 18 or 19 deer tags with a couple draws. There was one year when they gave out some late season antlerless tags up near Peace River too and of course the limitless CWD tags they used to give out. It adds up to alot of yummy meat!

General Mule Deer 1
Draw Anterless mule 3
General Whitetail 1
Supplimental WT 2
Wainwright 3
Strathcona County 3
Antlerless 212/248 2
Foothills deer 2
Supplimental MD 1 or 2?

Total 18 or 19

Ya, how dare you keep all that meat clean until you got home to properly process them...shame on you...:D

Say they're coyote bait, say they're coyote bat. Really pizz off these knockers. Nice haul. Too much skinnin for me, but I'm a lazy bird hunter.

I just read back through this thread for the first time. It makes me sick how many PETA members we have on here! GTFO!!

The young un looks ecstatic! I bet he had the time of his life! Good stuff all around!
