Best ever 50 yard score

That sure looks like some real fine shooting. I've never just shoot one
bullet at each bull like that. Where I competed, we shoot two shots at each
bull for a total of ten shots. The ten rings were appx. dime sized and the x-ring about the size of a pencil.
What rifle are you shooting? Is it scoped or are you using peep sights.
What is the size of the 10 ring on them targets.
I think I'll go post some targets now. Man, that's awsome!

Nice shooting. :D I envy your weather in your part of the country where you can shoot all the time. It's only -19 this morning and the snow's half gone so in a month or so I'll be able to break out of my rusty shell and start to catch up to you a little. :p

Official USBR target

Here is a page you can order them from. Unfortunately they are all located in the US. I bought mine privately from a guy on Rimfire Central (a couple hundred of them and they are almost gone ) but I emailed one of the places below and they said they would ship to Canada for about $20.00.

These targets definately were a good place to start and I doccument nearly all the targets I shoot. I started off having trouble getting pas a score of 200 or so and now I can shoot a fairly good score.

The targets on 452.com are a good place to start, and if you enjoy shooting the target thats when you maybe could think about getting some more.

Jordan,
I checked out your targets for the postal matches, but where do you get the official USBR targets from your pictures? I found some practice targets on the Eric Brooks webpage that were similar enough for practice, but it would be nice to get some of the real thing too.
http://cz452.com/ and click on USBR practice targets at the bottom of the page.

I really get a kick out of how you shoot the center out of the USBR logo shield. I'm impressed!

ps. small hijack... for anybody who's looking for other sample targets in PDF format, try here: http://www.uspalma.com/Targets/targets.htm

I am using a Winchester 52D benchrest rifle.

10 ring is .100 in diamter.

If the ten ring is only .100" dia. then where is the "x" .
Are you puting the shoots inside of the ten ring for a score of ten
or do you just need to touch it?
In the matches that I shot, the hole must be mostly inside of the
ten ring and the same went for the x ring.
My best 3 matches gave me 299/300 and 18/30 "X".
Those matches were shot with peep sights on my Ruger 10/22.
We also shoot 100 yds. Those targets were double the size plus
the fact the wind was more of an issue.
In the end, I would be hard pressed to duplicate what you did with my Ruger.

To score an X the shot must be completely overtop of the 10 ring so that it is not visible at all (This includes the lead left from the bullet over-top of it).

To score a 10 the shot must just touch the 10 ring.

Give the match a try in the postal matches at the top of the page (this particular match is the 50 yard Unlimited match). Its harder than it looks but definately a lot of fun :)
