Best home defense shotgun ?

Looking for your recommendations on this matter.
I looked at a Remington 870 a few days ago and I found these a bit cheap :-s
Quality doesn't look like what it was 20 years ago
Is there anything you would recommend ?

If you are bent on a Remington get an old one.

For home defense time typically is not on your side. Generally, the quicker you can grab and load the shotgun the better your chances of a positive outcome. With that in mind a box magazine fed shotgun seems the logical choice especially if retrieving and loading in reduced lighting type conditions while still adhering to storage laws.

if you're on a budget, Winchester SXP or older used 870.

Totally, would have no problem relying on either. I’ve had a fabarm now since 2015 and it’s not malfunctioned once, I hunt with it so it sees real use. It’s such a nicely made gun.
