Best in 1000-1500 price bracket?

In your opinion, who has the best in class tacticool-like rifle scope thats available in Canada? IOR, Nightforce, Leupold, Kahles, ect.

I'd like to have your opinions for future purchasing considerations.

Anything in that range is good. Features are the difference. Pick something that has the magnification range, reticle style, tube diameter, objective diameter, and adjustment increments that fit your requirements.

For the price range you have given, I would say Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50 LRT/M1 w/ Mildot, or Nightforce 3.5-15x50 with NP1-RR reticle. Both are reasonable in weight, come with great warranties, and precise. These would be my choice for tactical scopes in the 100-1500 range.

The Victories are a bit expensive for the price range specified. Of course if you can find a deal, go for it.

Yes.

The combination of greater strength in the tube alone is a good thing. Add to that the greater adjustment range on most scopes. Well worth the cost.

Not at all, unless you plan on shooting after dark. And how do you get more strength and adjustment from bell size?. Does Nightforce make a 36mm tube rifle scope I don't know about?

Check out www.eurooptic.com. Importing a scope isn't as bad as some say, and they'll help you get it done. Beautiful stuff - S&B, Meopta, Zeiss, Leica and so on.

Zeiss 6.5-20x50 or the Meopta Meostar R1 4-16x44 tact. Both beat the Leupold VXIII range hands down in my opinion. Be carefull of the Nightforce range, as I have seen 5 sent back to the manufacturer for massive zero shift. They were not mounted on beasts either only on 7.62.

I'm just not sure about the requirements to get that form done. Is it nessecary to get it done through snail mail?

Paul, 5 in Canada total would be closer as regards returns for Nightforce. Many sniper units continue to use Nightforce as they are the most reliable units available.

That makes sense. In that case I totally agree with your previous post on the matter. Both of the scopes I recommended have 30mm tubes.
