Best Lever Action 22 money can buy :in Canada:?

Sort of. Unless one has to be disassembled and worked on.
A nightmare to take apart and put back together. and the triggers are horrible on all Bl22's, but they are still a good gun, in a scary kind of way.................Too bad all the good lever guns are from our grandparents generation. They got all the highest quality firearms like the Old model 70 Winchesters, and decent heirloom quality lever guns. The Golden Boy is plated, and not in the same league.

My Henry h001 is fairly smooth, super accurate, and feeds all types of .22 including cb caps.

I would NOT call it quality though. The painted pot metal receiver isn’t that nice.

When you ask a question like this the answers you will receive are generally ones that endorse the choice of the person replying. I do not have a Henry, however I did consider buying it, but I did not like the painted finish compared to the Browning BL-22. The Browning is a third more expensive and is made by Miroku in Japan and is very well made. I have a Winchester 94 which was manufactured by Miroku and this also influenced me in choosing the BL-22. One thing to consider is do you want to mount a scope on the rifle, since the receiver length of the BL-22 is quiet short and this may limit your options when choosing a scope. The mag tube on the Browning seems to be more robust that the Henry, also how it locks in place.

I've owned the Marlin 39A & Win 9422. Both shot well, but the quality of build & finish of the Winchesters is much better. The 9422 handles & carries better than the Marlin as well fer me.

Might not be the answer you're looking for, but I picked up one of those Rossi Rio Bravo lever action .22's a few months ago once I found out about them. I loved the idea of a .22 lever action but I dislike the cowboy esthetic and usually dislike basic iron sights, but they have a synthetic stock model with fiber optic sights for something like $400 and boy is it ever fun.

Having had three Marlin 39's (one "a" and two "m"'s), they would get my vote.
The Marlin has a long stroke to cycle the lever approximately 90 degrees.
The Browning and Winchester are about 30 degrees.
The Marlins have more of a Western flair. They are simple to take apart and clean.
Testing a "Mountie" at 100 yards with a 3-9 scope found it preferred CCI Select . . . but then I had less than 50 rounds left and have not seen that ammo since.
Groups of 1.5" and less for 5 shots were the rule.
Traded for an Anschutz that would shoot into 1" at 100 yards.

Any experience with Rossi Rio Bravo lever gun? They look intriguing, the receiver appears to be steel (at least some report magnets sticking to it), and youtube reviews tend to be positive. Not too cheap at $450 average.

Dang, i missed your post. Is the receiver really all steel? Feeding and ejecting reliably?

I know they have 'feeding' problems, hoping this one's okay.

Nice addition to the M collection.

In my project cache are the salvaged steel parts from a Marlin 39. The original round barrel is there, plus a NOS octagon barrel from one of the limited runs. This thread has reminded me that I should get a stock set, and put a rifle together.

I m thinking on getting the bl22 micro Midas and puttingmarbles bullseye sight on it.Should make for a compact fast shooter with its 16 inch barrel

I did up a BL Micro some yrs back and it was a nice little performer for grey squirrels & plinkfests. Very nice handling with good accuracy, but the triggers on the BL-22's could have been better thought out.

I think it's a zinc alloy. No issues on my end.

I saw a bunch of videos on you tube where the zinc shroud holding the barrel on Rossi Gallery pump action (very similar to Rio Bravo lever action) either cracked or completely separated. I just lost interest in getting one. I don’t understand why some manufacturers cheap out on material especially in such vital areas which in the long run may cost them more than using proper steel to begin with.
