Best Lever Action 22 money can buy :in Canada:?

Quality wise the 9422 has no competition. It is heavier than most .22’s. For walking all day shooting ground squirrel’s I prefer a BL 22 Gr.2 with a 3/4” Scopecheif on it.

I'm sure many people that own the Marlin 39 would disagree with that statement . I know I sure do . And yes , I have owned both the 9422 and the 39 .

We always must remember that the old ones had the really crappy triggers, and the newer ones have the worst triggers ever. I had an old one with just the crappy trigger, sold it, and now can't afford a 9422 with the measly proceeds.

My father in law gave my son a BL-22 kid model for Christmas a number of years ago, I was blown away how heavy the trigger is (from memory it is the heaviest pull of over 80 firearms I have records for). He never shot it much because the CZ Scout I gave him is 100x better.
Of course in a moment of weakness I sold my 9422M that was so good.

If you can find one in Canada Ruger 96/22. Few good reasons, rotory mag feed allowing for easy loading and unloading. Will except all 10/22 mags. Can have multiple mags loaded with different types of rounds like cci quites or mini mags. Short throw lever very easy to scope.

The 9422 and the 39s seem to shine above the others. They are around but are $$$. I would look at reviews on the Henry for accuracy. Most are fun and great field and plinkers, just not bench guns.

I guess it depends what you are used to.
9422 is about 6lbs, 39a Mountie 6.25lbs and the 39a about 6.5lbs... still pretty light to me.

Never got around to buying a BL22 ?!?
- so many rifles, so little time

Speaking "new" lever 22lr. Anyone played with the Chiapa? Kind of looks like a Marlin

It does look like the Marlin, only problem is it is made by Chiappa, I have owned three Chiappa's and every one gave me problems, spent more time at warranty center than I had them in my possession. I will never buy another Chiappa

I bought one online because of its similarity to a 39a. I now own a real 39a and sold my chiappa for less than half the price I paid, I couldn't think to ask for more. The 39a is great. The chiappa did shoot straight but was horrid otherwise and not cheap either.
