The BL22 is a very good lever .22.
Quality wise the 9422 has no competition. It is heavier than most .22’s. For walking all day shooting ground squirrel’s I prefer a BL 22 Gr.2 with a 3/4” Scopecheif on it.
I'm sure many people that own the Marlin 39 would disagree with that statement . I know I sure do . And yes , I have owned both the 9422 and the 39 .
We always must remember that the old ones had the really crappy triggers, and the newer ones have the worst triggers ever. I had an old one with just the crappy trigger, sold it, and now can't afford a 9422 with the measly proceeds.Agreed. Except for possibly the worst trigger on a rifle ever.

I was blown away how heavy the trigger is (from memory it is the heaviest pull of over 80 firearms I have records for).

Speaking "new" lever 22lr. Anyone played with the Chiappa? Kind of looks like a Marlin
