Landed today after several months of waiting.
Henry All-weather 357mag side gate H012GMAW.
Props to Prophet River! Great guys, great communication and service. Notified me as soon as this baby set foot in this country.
The gun is incredibly smooth to touch and feel. Wife bought some silk pillows recently, and I swear the wood on this (and the stainless finish - looks sandblasted) feels as smooth as those pillows. The action is like butter, cycles like my Goldenboy, the loop is nicely machined and refined (I am comparing this in my mind to my very crude/stiff/sharp edges-unfinished and not in the same league Marlin 336), the weight (7lbs) is just perfect, and so is the length. I really can see why Henry's can't stay on the shelves for too long. Just wow. I am mind blown. The craftsmanship is just incredible. I looked it over, every single inch, and not a single mark or imperfection. It feels good, it looks good, hell, it even smells good. I have tried to taste it.
Only gripe is the steep price $1500CAD +tax (in the States seems to be on sale at many places for around 800-900ish) - either way, happy I was able to score one. Been eying them for a very long time now. (Oh and even a cheapy plastic lock of any sorts would have been nice for that price, but came with none
)
Crappy pic with the phone and bad lighting, but you get the point:
