Soooo many great choices out there!

Buy what works for your:

* Budget
* magazine/floor plate style of loading/carrying
* choice / needs/wants for a hunting stock (wood or synthetic)
* price point
* ability to mount glass with lightweight bases and rings (unless you are ex military crayon eater like me)
* ability to mount with 2 piece or 1 piece bases / rings combination
* balance, point ability
* fondle factor (feel) when sitting in your stand or carrying
* cool factor or LCV; Looks Cool Value
* aesthetically pleasing... you like what you are looking at (like looking down at my golf ball on the fairway)
* finish (stainless, blued, polished, bead blasted and blued, camo dipped treatment)
* barrel length for velocity in handloads or factory loads
* your EGO... I can’t forget that ha ha ha ha :eek:

Shall I stop here? Enjoy the journey !!

Peace out

Cheers, Barney

Tikka superlite at 5.9lbs, put it in a Mcmillan hunters edge stock and shed 4-6 ounces (expensive ounces), I fluted the bolt which was barely measureable, maybe an ounce. The bipod is a B&T at 8ounces (Wolverine Supplies) and highly recommended. Add Talley lightweights and scope of choice (my VX6 is 19 ounces, there are much lighter options, but these are the features I wanted, and it makes a rifle that is easy to carry for long periods.

Savage 110 Lightweight storm at 5.6 lbs and $900, as long as you can accept the barrel length being slightly shorter than standard rifles.
