What are people's favorite load for 25-06 for medium game whitetail and black bear mainly. Thinking on going with a 25-06 for my annual rifle buy. I've heard great things and have been doing a bit of reading but looking for people's opinions who actually have the rifle and use it.

I have had several and currently shoot 2 , the 120 Hornady pushed by H4831 shoots .5" and kills like lightning, on deer it will pass through both shoulders, I have never recovered one, they are a seriously overlooked, underrated very accurate projectile.

I have only shot Hornady SST and 115 Bergers out of my 25-06AI. Both worked good on deer. The Bergers are more accurate. I use H1000 and can drive the Bergers 3300 fps with no pressure.

You are over pressure, considerably. Your velocity should be enough to tell you that....

117 gr interlock btsp over 51 or 50 grs on imr 4831. 3050-3100 fps from a 22" barrel. No pressure signs unless I leave the ammo in the truck on a really hot day but I think it was a Winchester primer issue mainly

The bullet sheds weight but kills amazingly fast
I also load 75 gr Vmax over 49 grs varget for 3500 fps. The loads shoot same poi at 100 yards

My barrel is about toast. My groups have opened up to 1.5" from the previous half inch mark

Love The caliber

I would not say "considerably", but velocity is about 100fps more than anything I have ever seen.

Hodgdon has the 117gr tapping out at 3046fps/51,000cup in the 25-06 with H1000. Nosler has a 3300fps max load with H1000 and 115gr pills....but it's in the 257Wby with about 11gr more powder.
3300 in the 25-06 has to be well over 70,000psi?

been loading 25-06 for my buddy's Dad for 15 years now. 100gr Barnes over H4831sc for 3275 fps. It's changed over the years from the XLC, to TSX, now using TTSX.

I'm loading in my browning bar 100 grain either tsx or the ttsx with reloader 19 at 49.5 grains and I'm getting 12 mm groups with this load ..... yes I said a browning bar ...semi auto
What works for me may not work for you
And I used magneto speed to chrony them and running at 2900 to 2940 fps. .... not the fastest load out there but just bloody hell accurate!!!!! Out to 400 meters
And yes I did try it out to that distance to verify the numbers !!!!
