Canada post and a call to the cfo lol.
I just received another cz shadow in the mail yesterday and it wasn't trigger locked and the case wasn't locked and as far as I know no puppies or kittens were killed in the process.
I've worked in the courier postal industry for more than 20 years. You need to go overkill on the way it's packed or there's a good chance it won't get there or it will take forever.
Here's what I usually instruct people to do with all guns because I do the same.
Get yourself a good thick cardboard box that will fit the gun. Trim/cut the sides of the box and fold the top flaps so they are flush with the top of the pistol case. If there is any space between the box and the case it will be crushed open even with filler like bubble wrap. Keep in mind this box will be literally thrown in the same trailer with car engines, bricks, mufflers, skids etc. Prepare it like they will running over it with forklifts, trucks, and or using it like a football because they will be. If it is opened it will be stolen or held until the police can figure out what to do with it.
I'm not exaggerating.
Once it is folded like I mentioned get yourself a few rolls of strong shipping tape. Tape not just the spots that need taping tape but tape tightly around the entire box. If done right there should be no exposed cardboard, you are basically laminating the box. This prevents puncture, exposure to water, and prying hands.
Next take a piece of paper and put the senders address in small font and and the ship too address in large font. I just print it off my printer on a few letter sized sheets of paper.
Put one on the top of the box and one on the bottom. Tape it completely as well ensuring there is no exposed paper and cannot be removed. Do not just rely on the Canada post label they come off all the time.
It seems like a bit much, but you wouldn't believe how packages/mail are really shipped and who does the processing.
