Hi guys I wanna know what is the best hunting bullet on a 30-06 for moose hunting...

I will problay have to make to shot from 50 to 250 yds..

DO you have a good recipe to go with that bullet that go fast and precise....

Precise is a function of you and your rilfe.
What is precise in mine may shoot terribly in yours.
Levi gives good advice.
And consequently most rifles exhibit maximum accuracy at loads somewhat slower than maximum velocities.
But 100fps is'nt gonna make or break your shooting, you will likely have only about 1" more drop to 400yds.
Load for accuracy first, hopefully a decent bullet shoots well, then work on your part, practice practice, practice.

I like the Nosler Accubonds in both my .300 WBY and .300 WIN mags. This may be a good place for you to start. The Accubond has both been accurate and deadly for me in the .30 cal. The .338 on the other hand wouldn't group worth a ####(2" at 300m) compared to any other bullet(1" at 300m) out of my Sako TRG 42 in .338 Lapua mag .

Most other premium bullets shoot quite well, even some not so premium bullets shoot well and kill the same as bullets that are $65/box. If you want a less expensive bullet try the Sierra Gameking, very very accurate hunting bullet.

180 grain is good, my preference is either the 200 or 220 grain Nosler partitions as this is what works well in my gun. They may not work well in yours.

Again, as others have said, you'll have to find out what your rifle likes best. Take the time to go out to the range with different loads to see what your gun likes. Otherwise, you'll never know what your gun is truly capable of.

Any premium bullet of 180 gr , with lets say IMR 4350 , 55 gr, check that in the book, just a guess on the weight of powder. ;) examples partition, barnes, gs....
Gotta' agree, with bullet, weight and powder suggestion. Although it's not a partition but a bullet style/type I've had good results with Sierra 180gr BT in the '06 and Sierra 200gr BT in the .308 Norma. I've loaded the same for my buddies '06 and he has a couple of recovered slugs from Moose, the jacket peeled right back to the BT, and still holding together and good weight retention.

Try a 165 grain bullet with IMR4064. The .30-06 really likes that bullet weight and powder. 180's are ok, but you don't need 'em for moose.

We've had bad results using 30-06 and 180gr. BT Sierra Gameking's with moose. Here's the separated jacket we found after it only penetrated 4", we couldn't find the lead. Good thing the bull was hit in the jugular. Pick a heavy premium bullet.

Obviously a considerably different result than I've experienced. The 200gr from the .308 Norma that I dug out of the Moose I got was pretty battered I'll admit but pretty much intact and had retained a good percentage of the original weight. One of the 180's my partner used from his '06 on the Moose, as I've mentioned, the jacket was peeled back much the same as the one in your picture but was still firmly attached to the lead. A classic mushroom. I never thought of it at the time, but I wish I'd taken a picture of it.
I wouldn't have expected that your bullet would've expanded to the extent it did just hitting the jugular and some surrounding neck muscle.

With regards to spitzers post: you got the moose and that shows the bullet did what it was supposed to do. You north americans worry way too much about velocity and bullet performance, just hunt and stop worrying so much!

for a standard prices hunting bullet Speer is the best. IMO. i used 165gr speers for a few moose, they really hold together.

if you have money to spent the premium priced bullets will work too. either 165 or 180 grain whatever shoots better in your rifle. don't use 200 grain bullets in the 06, it doesn't have enough speed to mushroom properly. they blow through like FMJ's.

i've had good accuracy with 4350 for 180 and 165, 4064 for 165.

Thats an odd place to aim :D ;)

My brother (newb) was shooting when he shouldn't have  . It was around 300yrd shot at the top of a steep cutblock. I don't think the "jugular" was where he was aiming, lol. ;) If he would have hit it anyhwere else that bull would still be running around.

IMO, If regular cup and core bullets are used I'd prefer 180gr. Hornady Interlocks over Speer and Seirra's.

I've used some Speer 165gr GS and they do work well. I guess the reason I've stuck with the Sierra 180gr BT in my '06 is for me, they do a little better accuracy wise.

Well, where I live (steep mountainous tangle), an extra 20secs of hoof time can equal 4 hrs of extra work or a lost critter. If there is a better bullet/load for cleaner quicker kills then that's what I'll use. Plus it's fun trying out new stuff. ;)

i just used the standard speer hot core's.

i don't find the premium bullets necessary for standard velocity rounds. they are more suited to the new high velocity magnums which need a solid bullet to hold together on impact.

my accuracy load is 168gr A-max (5 shot .45). i use them on deer with outstanding results.
