best nr black rifle?

It's too bad the Swissarms didn't make a carbine with a NR barrel. The carbine balances a lot better than the 20" one, due to shorter handguard/piston tube. I do recall a couple of CGN'ers got Herron Arms to retrofit a NR barrel on their Swissarms carbines.
 
It's too bad the swissarms didn't make a carbine with a NR barrel. I second this motion. I had a re-barreled carbine it was nice and much better balanced than my full size swiss but even though the krieger barrel was quite nice I sold it, I probably would have kept it if it had an actual swiss 18.6. Don't know much about how the swiss is made but I can't see changing the the barrel length costing a bazilion more franc's to produce. Calling out our resident swiss arms underwater warfare specialist he may know more about who the new importer is and if they would inquire if this would be possible.

I believe it would be possible providing minimum order quantity is reached. This is where I see the problem arising.
 
After reading and debating and reading some more I finally moved some stuff on the EE and consolidated their combined worth in the form of a Swiss Arms Classic Grreen. I haven't had the chance to hit the range yet but my first impressions are very very good. The reason I think I like so much is that it has obviously been build (by some rather clever people) as a battle rifle, plain and simple.

I have owned an MR1 and an XCR. The MR1 had beautiful build quality, the tolerances between the parts and the fit and finish were excellent. However it lacked ergonomic controls and the ability to have iron sights good enough for long range shooting. The XCR had great ergonomic design features and the fit and finish were pretty good but it just wasn't a refined. The beauty of the XCR (and ARs) is that you can swap out all kinds of bits and pieces to customize everything to your needs.

The Swiss on the other hand, has been designed front to back, top to bottom, to not need all that aftermarket tinkering. You can take the bone stock version and march off to war. The fit and finish is excellent, the trigger is fantastic, and it is designed to work as a package. That's the part that I like most about it. You can buy a Honda Civic and put thousands into it to make it fast or you can just go out and buy an M3 ... at the end of the day, chances are all your thousands probably won't help you to out design what a team of Japanese engineers came up with. Buy the M3 and you won't even want to tinker with it.

First off no. It's an economy car, stop doing stupid #### to it.

The m3 is highly moddable and I do want to tinker with it, a centrifugal supercharged setup with a eismann titanium exhaust, methinks yes.
 
After much humming and hawing, I finally picked up my tavor! Can't wait for the current rain torrent to end so I can take it out. Woohoo.

Here is my new Tavor , had an Inforce but didnt feel it worked with the rail on the Tavor so I went with the Surefire M300A scout light with pressure switch. Also added a battlecomp 1.0 and an Aimpoint P.R.O.

I haven't got to shoot this rifle yet , only had it 4 days and I work crazy hours. I'm heading out this Sunday.... But I can say that I've had both the pws fsc 556 and the Battlecomp on an xcr an I must say Battlecomp hands down. I will report back on Sunday but I suspect similar results out of the same device.
 
Interesting to see so many optic mounting positions on the tavors just on this page alone. I'm going to play with mine this weekend. All in all its certainly farther out than it was on my AR, but that may be a good thing for both eyes open use.
