$4K brand new is quite a big budget. I’ll keep my low budget stuff to myself and listen to what others would buy with 4k

1. Model 70 Safari Express
2. Marlin 1895
3. Ruger M77
4.....

All my other favourite rifles are either discontinued or cost more than $4,000.

I have a new Mark V, but one of the “standard” versions in the 280 AI. I have really liked it a lot. I have less than 80 rounds through it and with factory ammo it has printed 2 shots in 1 hole and the other very very close to touching. Hard to beat that at an almost perfect weight and balance. Honestly for a factory rifle it’s hard to beat in my eyes..

This is after searching through multiple different makes and brands to see what works well.

What's the purpose of the rifle? Truck-gun? Safari rifle? Benchrest gun? Obviously all different choices.

Pretty pointless thread.

I have been very happy with my Sako Model 85s: 2 LH Hunters (6.5x55 and 9.3x62) and my LH Finnlight II (was a 308 I rebarreled to 338 Federal). I would love to find a LH Model 85 Carbonlight.
I have also been very happy with my LH Browning X Bolt All Weather's (7mm-08 I rebarreled to 6.5 Creedmoor when Browning announced they would not be building the LH 6.5 CM, and a 270 WSM)
These rifles have great stocks that fit me well, and are nice to carry and shoot, smooth actions, have good detachable magazines, great triggers, and have shot great from the get go (except the 338 Federal which turned out to be a chamber reamer issue that has been corrected with a new reamer with proper throat dimensions).

If Browning would build their X Bolt Mountain Pro Tungsten in LH, I would first in line for a 7mm Rem Mag or PRC.

There isn’t much at that price that really get me going, all the rifle I like are either old walnut and blue guns that cost way less or new high end guns that cost way more!!

Anyone own a new Weatherby Mk5? Some models are priced pretty high, are light and have a big list of features.

I have 2 ! One is a MK 5 Ultra Light 6 lug 240 WBee & just being fitted with a WBee Carbon Fibrestock - the other is a MK 5 Action with a Benchmark Fluted barrel in 300 PRC fitted with a McMillan stock . RJ
