Hey guys! :HFU:

I would like to know where i can find bullet molds here in Canada (preferably from Lee) and also either liquid or powder cast bullet coatings i am looking at this coating
http://hi-performancebulletcoatings.com/ . I am also trying to find this mold from Lee c225-55-rf http://leeprecision.com/mold-dc-c225-55-rf.html but I can't seam to find it in any of the gun stores here in Vancouver BC area or online does anyone know where i could get one? Lastly could one import bullet molds and powder/liquid coatings from the USA or would that be just as big a no no as any other firearm related item?

Anyways thank you all for your input have a good day guys!

I have bought 90% of my Lee stuff from Amazon.ca I have noticed that prices have gone up quite a bit but still, free shipping.

I've gotten some stuff from Titan in the US but with the exchange and shipping it's usually more expensive.

Vancouver area Budget shooting supplies Henry.. Calgary Western metal Both are site vendors.. Powder coating Emerald coatings in Ontario I believe.. Ordered from them good to deal with

Emerald coatings for powder coating powder is what most seem to use around here. If you look in the powder coating sticky it should have what powders work best for tumble coating besides a proper powder coat gun. As for lee molds specifically I've orders mine locally and through titan reloading from the USA.

I bought my coating feom Emerald, but I hear Princess Auto have started selling some as well. For moulds, HIgginson has the best prices, and excellent customer service.

Powder form emerald but beware not every color works if you are not using a gun. Western metals has good prices on lee stuff.

You can get moulds from the use no issue. Noe makes fantastic moulds. Powder for coating isn't firearm related so order away but once again not every color will work well.

Emerald is probably the best if you just want to buy/order from a business but an alternative I have used with great success is to just go to an industrial commercial coater in my area and ask if they have any tail end color that they wont be re-using, usually you get some just for getting rid of it for them, I got a full paint pail of JD yellow (enough boolit coating to do 4 lifetimes) just for carrying it out the door one time. Be careful tho not to use any "floor sweepings" as any grit that comes with it will go down your bore along with the coating...not a good thing. I was offered floor sweepings one time and did take them "'as a courtesy" to keep on their good side but garbaged them at the first opportunity.

what colors worked best for you from emerald ?

My 38 mould and Lee 4-20 pot came from Budget Shooter Supply (wanted to get started sooner than later) Prompt and reasonable shipping.
9mm, 45cal and 44cal moulds from the CGN EE
50cal maxi-ball mould was obtained at the Calgary Gun Show

Have acquired other casting stuff from Western Metals. Prompt and reasonable shipping.

Have never seen anything worth pursuing on Amazon.ca?

Princess Auto has the powder coating stuff. I'm still lube/sizing, I have a Magma lube/sizer I need to justify.

Amazon is fantastic. Got 90% of my molds off there. 75% of my LEE dies and Sizers. Even got all the essentials for building several PID temperature controllers.

Life is what you make it. So is Amazon. Plus I loved the free shipping they used to have on everything over $30

Higginson beats amazon even with the shipping, every time! I've also bought casting stuff from budget shooter supply, and the ee. My powder coating powder is from emerald, princess auto and the local custom powder coat place. I'm using tractor red and John Deere green from emerald, both work well, and i'm using princess auto blue as well, it's very bang for your buck. Get a toaster oven from a thrift store, while at the thrift store gets some cookie sheets and some muffin tins, get half a dozen SS tablespoons and a SS ladle. Buy a roll of parchment paper. Gets a package of disposable gloves and a decent pair of leather work gloves. The cookie sheets are great to put your bottom pour on, all the little splashes and bits and sprues are kept in one place. Get one of those tiny bottles of 2-stroke oil, it's the best sprue plate and v rib lube around. Get a dedicated pair of side cutters to test wheel weights and a small flat head screw drive for your pot, also a pair of pliers and some paperclips. Pick up a cheap hot plate, it's very handy for blending small batches and preheating lead and molds. I use ziploc screw top #5 containers and heavy weight airsoft bbs, and I use empty plastic mayo jars to hold the pc powders. Firgue out how much ventilation you need then use a bit more.
