being light weight is almost of the most importance after reliability which is number one. If I survive my situation of a downed aircraft I will gladly by a new one.
I could try to argue for a 10 mm but a 45 acp will leave a bigger hole every single time.
For some professions under very strict circumstance you could argue and reason why a .45 acp in a polymer is better. I could never argue with a 1911 in full stainless. My number 1 argument is weight, and size, and round capacity.
In Ontario smallest is .357 Magnum but I am pilot, and weight, size, are a big down side to a revolver. i rather take my chances with a 45 acp because I most likely will not carry my revolver every time due to it being a pain in the ash. Plus a .45 ACP I am more proficient with. I rather unload 3 to 4 rounds in the skull or of the bear then miss once with a .44 mag. If your a prospector or work in the forestry industry, or anything by foot, you will never argue anything smaller then a .357 mag. Plus hearing damage with a .44 mag is much more then a .45 acp. No hearing no flying.
If anyone knows a revolver I can get with a restricted barrel that weights around 28 ounces, please let me know in .357 or 44 mag.
