Best polymer .45 ACP?

Outdoors protection handgun

Trekstor,

I would like to add just a few more points to this discussion.

Revolvers in magnum calibre are the best for this purpose, but you prefer semis over revolvers for assorted reasons, and I will go along with your request.

Glock 21 in 45ACP is an excellent man stopper, but for defence from large animals it is preferable to have something that has more penetration power.

Glock 20 is an identical gun to Glock 21, other than different calibre.
Matter of fact, Storm Lake makes conversion barrel so that Glock 21 can fire 10mm as well.

I would strongly recommend Glock 20, which shoots 10mm cartridge and is known to be reasonably effective pistol for outdoor protection.

Another important aside is that 10mm ammo that is commonly available in Canada does not reach full potential of this cartridge.
Matter of fact, it is just slightly more powerful than .40 S&W.

If you do choose Glock 20, you will need to pay special attention to find full strength 10mm factory ammo, or reload your own ammunition.

Cheers,
Dan

well I got a M&P45 right now. I am trying to convince a member who has a glock 29 SF...

If I can not, I will try to trade for a glock 20SF. Glock 20 and 21 are way to wide.

Conversion barrels are known to cause reliability issues.

in some rare occasions pilots can apply for permits for 45 acp and 10 mm. Why. Well think about it. A pilot can barely get into the cockpit on modern aircraft as they are so tight. Weight is a big thing, and comfort.

If my plane is sinking cuz I had to ditch on a lake. What I have on me, is what I will have to survive with.

So just because our CFO thinks he knows better, does not mean he can always justify his ideology in very case. I shot autos better, I got more rounds, and I can not afford a big revolver since I already have autos. Pilots are poor, so if the CFO wants to buy it for me, then we can talk.

Also a 10 mm has the ballistics of a 41 mag. Ontario CFO would have a hard time arguing not issuing me a permit. I did not apply yet, as I am trying to get a 10 mm. Also my current job does not take me up north far enough to need a pistol. Maybe my next job...
