best prices on vortex viper rifle scopes

Thanks for the info looks like canada wants to pull an extra 80 dollors out of my pocket I can buy the rifle scope out of the usa for 399 and 480 in canada thats not right when our dollor is worth more sorry just venting

Just try ordering a scope out of the US. You'll soon realize why it's more up here.

You can export a scope without an export license. Sad but true. $70 more on a scope is a fart in the wind..suck it up or buy used.

Start your own importing company. I'm sure you ( and the countless other whiners on here) can do it cheaper. After all, Canadian retailers are "ripping you off", right?

Your right, canadian retailers are ripping us off. Maybe others canadians should be concerned about what is happening. Or we should shut off the oil tap and the water tap to the USA. Canada should stop dealing with countries that exploit Canada.

Try pricing a Canam ATV here and in the US. The company is Canadian with a lot of our goverment money and yet you can buy one much cheaper in the US and the dealers here are told to not honour the warranty if a Canadian tries to get work done on one bought in th US.
I think the same thing happens with a lot of the products we buy here. It's not the dealers but someone before them that gets a lot of money for nothing and seems to think it's there due.
I'm having trouble sitting down and its not due to the size of my wallet.

thats not right when our dollor is worth more sorry

At the time of this posting our dollar is worth 1.007 US

However,

It is 0.96% when you do the exchange through a bank or on your Visa.

It costs $20 to ship a package to NY from Georgia but costs $40 to ship that same package from to Ontario from Georgia.

Add in an exclusive distributor to the mix and presto! You have a mark up that is a higher percentage that just comparing dollar to dollar.

Now, going direct, with the same shipping charges, with the exact same dollar value, yes, then we Canadian retailers might be able to compete.

Hense why you'll notice that something like our Blue Force Gear slings are very competitive against the US pricing.

A large number of companies have volume pricing. Buy this amount - you get this price, buy this about - you get this price etc.

When a US company buys 10x more than a Canadian company then they have no problem getting the best pricing.

If I buy 100 items from you even month and someone else buys 10 items from you every month.................

I have this fight with US companies all the time. I tried to carry Ops Core helmet suspension system. They told me "sure, it will require an 100,000 unit opening order".

That's when I try to explain that we have only 75,000 CF members in total.

Our entire air force can fit on one of their air craft carriers.

Need I go on?

The trolls can finally be at rest. :p The U.S. isn't exploiting us.They have 10x as many people, and a far larger market. They can buy in bulk and sell it all. Canadian retailers cannot. Either move to the south, or stfu.

Are you a recent business grad? Full of hope and energy. Full of wonderful thought provoking ideas?
Retailers in Canada pay more for the same items than American retailers do, and that is the only reason that products are more expensive in Canada, no Canadian retailer is " Ripping you off " FS

The unfortunate fact of the matter is that to bring anything to Canada from the US, there needs to be export permits, which take workers to fill them out, and said workers want to be paid -OMG!- Don't pick on the scope, or the Canadian retailer, I bet you paid more for the rifle it will sit on if you bought here in Canada than you would have paid in the US.

And don't forget the average Canadian annual salary is higher than it's US counterpart.

Too bad, but we need those American companies. Try buying a rifle that is entirely made in Canada. I doubt you can put one together for less than $5000. Granted it would be a great rifle, but there is not enough market here to keep prices competitive.

also you can,t tell me it costs 80 dollors to ship to canada

No, but it does cost several thousand for them to get their export license every year, so they can export to us. They could just not bother, and wouldn't likely notice the lost business.

The company might be Canadian, but they are made in Mexico.
