100% agree... all these forums should be used only as is a guide to consider different alternatives. Do your own research so you can make an informed decision. If you can find a place to demo some shotguns, all the better! I was able to try the Winchester and Remmy's from people that we hunt with.
TDC... How do you know how much I paid for my Rinco?

For what it's worth - I picked it up from an auction. It was brand new, sealed in a box and was a steal (with the rifled barrel) for the money I paid compared to a brand new Remmy 870. At the time I didn't know about CGN - otherwise I probably would have bought a used 870 from the EE.
My understanding is that the Chinese waited for the 870 patent to expire and then they cloned it/knocked it off as the HP9. For the money paid, it has been a great reliable shotgun.
And when all is said and done - the deer and geese that I have shot with it haven't seem to have been able to tell the difference between the Norinco and the real deal
