I'm looking to replace the mags that came with my Norc "Police Model" 1911. The gun itself has never malfunctioned once, but sometimes the front of the flimsy magazine follower shifts enough to get past the nub of the slide stop (last shot hold open). What brand of affordable, standard grade magazines would you recommend that have a reputation of functioning well in Norinco (or all) 1911's? I think I'd like to try the contoured follower this time around. I've read some good things about Metalform, any good?
Also, it seems easier to find 8 round 1911 magazines than 7 rounders. I've read a lot about 8 rounds magazines causing issues because of how compressed the spring gets, and how tightly the cartridges are packed inside. Is it best to look for 7 rounders only, or would you recommend getting an 8 rounder to use like a 7?
Thanks!
