The bulk of Vortex’s rifle scopes production occurs in China. This includes the Diamondback Tactical FFP (First Focal Plane), Strike Eagle, and Crossfire rifle scopes product lines. Asia seems to be the place for optics. In fact, Bushnell gets theirs from South Korea.
5 shot groups at 100 yards savage axis (not three shots) I get around MOA
5 shot groups at 200 yards savage axis (not three shots) I get 1.50 MOA
I heard directly from people who spent 2-3 hundred on their VORTEX and got rid of them because it started to attract flies at the range
You don't need to tell me the place of origin for a rifle scope. You just gotta let me know your judging criteria for a rifle scope. Do you care about light transmission and trackability at all?
You really had to specifically mention 5 shots group to make yourself feel better, who measures group sizes with 3 shots anyways? We usually shoot 1/2-1/4' groups at 100 yards, no wonder you only need a 3-9 Weaver on your rifle.
The fact that your groups expanded from 1 MOA to 1.5 MOA tells me a couple of things:
1. Your 100 yard result is not repeatable (damn I mean 1 MOA is bad enough already...)
2. Your crappy scope on the rifle does not allow you to have a precise aim at 200 yards
3. Your ammo could also be so bad that it caused significant extreme spreads in velocity
Hmmm, I wonder what is the main cause...Now I completely understand where the hatred came from...
