On a trim mannlicher, the optic profile is important... at least to me... but I have checked out those Nikons and they are decent glass... Leupolds warranty wins me over.

No arguments as I only own Leupolds except for 1 Zeiss and I have been fortunate enough to have not needed the Leupy warranty..... Nock on wood.
 
Was my 375 Sako 85 Kodiak. Now it's my new 30-06 Sako 85 Bavarian Carbine (in spite of both being chambered in wimp calibers ;)).

Basically I think scopes are for looking through, not at....still, I generally prefer relatively small fixed or low power variable scopes...But they usually say Swarovski on them. I have Leupold low power variable on my BRNO Model 5 though.

Over the last few years I have grown quite fond of Steyr ProHunter in .270. The ergonomics work for me in all the usual hunting shooting positions, I like the thumb wheel safety, the action is very smooth, and it is extremely accurate. I have since picked up another ProHunter in 7mm Rem Mag, I'm looking forward to carrying it in the bush this year. But one of my K31s always comes to the range with me.

Russian SKS... I’ll sel it for $500 or trade for your sig p226...

Probably my tikka in .270, it’s out the most meat in my freezer. Accurate, well built for a fair price.
 
The best rifle ive ever owned is my current browning x bolt in 30-06. It fits like it was made for me, & will shoot my best handloads into 3/8" . It also has less felt recoil than any other 06 i have tried.
 
My Browning BBRs, I've got 5 of them, a short action 7-08, 25-06, 300 Win mag and a 7mm Rem mag rebarreled to 264 Win mag and also a 338 that is now a heavy barreled 7x61 S&H. Love these rifles.
 
Without a doubt the very first Rifle I ever bought when i was 14, a Remington 700 Mountain Rifle DM chambered in 260 Rem, alot of patience went into that rifle as I eagerly waited 6 months for it to arrive on order, well worth the wait, shot every handload we fed it into small groups and has taken everything from groundhogs, Coyotes and fox, to Deer and Black bears, Love that Rifle, it's topped with a Leupold VX3 2.5-8x36 and comes in just under 7 pounds empty, over the years it's gotten a Timney trigger and a Pillar/Gass bed job,
 
Easily my Tikka. T3 lite 22-250 with a Sightron SII atop it. Bought it new 3 years ago and do everything with it. Paper, gophers, pigeons, more paper, its had around 3k down the pipe and it still hangs onto its .75 moa. It's not let me down yet.

:) it's a beautiful rifle.

For me it's a Pre-64 M70 Fwt 30-06 I bought well over 20 years ago. Over the years I had Bill Leeper fancy up the metal, and Mitch Kendall stock it in a Brown Precision kevlar Pound'r. I have shot a lot of game with it over those years, mulies and WTs, goat, moose and elk, black bear and wolves.

I have had (and have) nicer rifles, but none mean to me what that one does.

I have had a lot of good ones, but right now it is my new to me Remington 700 BDL varmint in 223.
Looks great, shoots unreal, have done nothing but clean it and load for it.
The worst part, was that the biggest group with everything I have tried is under 1inch, now I have decisions to make. lol Some groups were in the .2 range, and I am not that great of shot, so this thing really does shoot the lights out.
 
I have a couple of 'nicer' rifles, but if I had to pick just one, I'd have to say my Whelen. It's my go to rifle, or if I decide to use something else it always comes along just in case.





Early 90s BDL, VX-3 & QR Leupold rings. The trigger is about 3 lbs. I haven't found a bad handload for it yet, even factory Cor-Lokts shot great through it. My usual load is 225gr TSX and IMR 4064, but another great one is 250gr Interlocks and 4895. I have the irons set for the TSX load.

Sure, after 300 yards it's comparable to ranging in artillery but I don't shoot past that anyway.

It's accounted for a couple of moose and quite a few white tails. Might take it out for elk this year, but I really want to get one with the Rigby.

I'm the third owner, but the previous 2 never shot it very much.
