Best smokeless for antiques? Unique vs 2400 vs SR4759

I like 2400 but unique is the powder i use the most i save the 2400 for my power house loads.
Elmer keith was getting some real power house loads from 17.5 grs of 2400 in a 45 schofield case with his 250 SWC at about 1100 Fps in guns built before 1898 to.
Tho were talking strong guns like the 45 caliber Colt DA 1878 solid frame with them cylinders with no stop notch cutouts. tho he used that loads in pre 1898 SAA colts in 45 colt to.
if you want to know about 2400 loads and what it can do for you read keith book six guns. ;)

I've read most every word Mr. Keith has written. They are interesting but some of his loads may be on the warm side for 110 year or older steel. I would approach some of his loads with extreme caution.

I used to use 33 grs of H322 in my M94 .38/55 with a 250 gr. hard cast lead bullet. This just about duplicated the old "Dominion" factory load.

By all means use what you have,I use green dot in my 44/45 loads, but I think you misunderstood the intended purpose of the propellant...

if you follow the links you'll see it is made specifically for muzzle loaders and Black Powder Cartridge Firearms...Revolvers...Rifles...
from the sight-

afaik an 8mm lebel revolver is a Black Powder Cartridge Revolver is it not..?

IIRC the 8mm Lebel Revolver was a smokeless load from the get go. France adopted smokeless powder in their military cartridges ahead of most others.
