Best under 2000.00 factory rifle there is

If we aren't talking brand new retail prices and just a rifle new or used it has to be a used Ruger MKII off the EE in my mind. I frequently see them on the EE for between 800-1000$, some in Stainless. Take the other 1000$ you saved and buy some quality glass.

Such a tough, well built and well designed sporting rifle and currently one of the best bangs for your buck in a sh$tstorm of overpriced product.

Ooh another one worth adding to the list here would be the Mark V. The hunter models come in under $2000 and are really nice.

Does anyone know much about the Benelli Lupo? It's right up there as well in terms of price. Neat mini-chassis and very smooth running, I'm always handling them at the local Cabela's. Don't hear much about them but they're not for the light of wallet.

Tikka. Kimber is good too if you can get one. My Kimber benefitted from bedding work and a trigger adjustment. But I've never had to fiddle with a Tikka to get it shooting. I handload all my rifles as well so eventually I get a reliable load worked up.

The design of the new trigger is enclosed. I have seen at least two enclosed freeze up rendering them useless. That is a problem. The old trigger design has fewer parts, is less susceptible to water, debris, and access for cleaning etc.

Two enclosed MOA triggers? I searched and the only Win 70 trigger freeze-up I saw online turned out to be a Classic trigger.

Tikkas are enclosed and they work fine. The MOA trigger is pretty simple, and FN doesn't make crap.

I prefer the Model 70 safety to the Tikka.
