WIN 70 Extreme Weather. After hunting with one in .30-06 for 6 years, my ONLY gripe with it is that the stock is a little slippery feeling. I cured that with a few pieces of skateboard tape applied in strategic hold areas and problem solved. Now its my grippiest rifle too!!

Difficult to say. depends if one likes bolts, semis, levers, wood or synth.
Assuming today's prices and still available (or at least orderable), for me it has to be the Browning BLR stainless takedown in a short action chambering (not 223) if you can find one.
If it had to be a bolt and you're willing to wait or shop around, then I'd say the xbolt pro or pro long range can be had for 2k and I have been extremely pleased with mine over the years except maybe that the OEM cerakote is not as good (it chips) as what you'd get from Black Box Customs.
If I had a 2k budget today though I'd probably get a less expensive rifle and nice scope. I would be hard pressed to find a better bang for the buck than the cz557 short action (e.g. range, SA lux) but any would do if you want a standard length chambering or don't care about iron sights. With Warne QD rings that leaves you about 600-700$ for a decent scope.

A new winchester model 70. They are built very well and don't cut corners. When people talk old world feel and quality. The model 70 embodies that but with modern machining. I would recommend them or any other winchester of their choice. But the model 70 imo is their best offering.
The Christensen arms Mesa is definitely up there. If you’re looking at the cost to turn a rem 700 into a more custom approach, it would cost significantly more.
Also the new Weatherby Mark V would be my number 1 pick. The “base” model has been pretty fantastic so far.

the CZ550 is a good option!
Mine is the Steyr Model M.
Once you hunt with a ###y euro style rifle, with slick internals and function, you wonder why you ever owned anything with a plastic stock.
The savage axis mentioned above, is also cool for a donor for a build project or whatever, but chinsy plastic bargain rifles are not heirloom rigs in my opinion. Hunt with something you love though, and something your proud to see your kids or grandkids use one day, whatever that happens to be.

Husqvarna 1900's....hands down....imho.
