Best under 2000.00 factory rifle there is

What was a bargain, even considered a manufacturing short cut rifle, is now approaching the OP's limit.

Tikka T3 are great, but a cut corner rifle. Ruger M77 mkii were the pinnacle of that model, the Hawkeye a lesser/poorly finished version.

If I was looking for a truly new rifle, I'm not, my interest is the M70 extreme weather.

I have a stainless model 70 shadow 7-08. Topped with a vx3hd twilight hunter in Talley lightweight mounts. About perfect for Vancouver island
Off island I use a stainless tikka t3x in 30-06 with a leupold vx3i in Talley lightweight mounts is about perfect too. Lightweight very accurate and reliable.
If I was to buy new today it would be a model 70 ew in 7-08

For me, I'd first look for a European rifle. The internet and gun shows is where I would start to locate the best conditioned rifle, regardless of cartridge, except for bloody 6.5 Creedmoor. I like the Creedmoor, great little cartridge; but hear and see it to often. The only domestic rifle I would purchase is the Winchester Model 70 Super Grade or the Extreme.

Winchester model 70, new production or pre '64, followed a close second by Browning X-Bolt.

I couldn't agree more! I recently picked up a Sauer 101 that I've been reloading for and using on coyotes. Very accurate with almost every load I've tried. Great trigger too. So I'd add that one to my choices.

My vote is Weatherby vanguard nice tight rifles love my all weather varmint in 223:redface:
I love my ruger precision’s however when I got em they were 1400$ last I looked there over 2k which is way to much for what it is:mad:

Model 70 for me as well in that price range. Build quality is the best it's ever been. Excellent rifle, Browning has done good things with the Model 70.
