Best warranty for a $200-300 scope?

see the link I provided, second page
I hope I am wrong so please let me know

He was very specific but it wouldn't be the first time I was given wrong info by someone like that. I think though that in the link you provided there mentioning outside canada and the U.S.

http://www.bushnell.com/global/customer-service/warranty-information

I was just speaking to him today hoping to get a deal on some stuff. I'll make sure to verify this ASAP. If he's wrong I'll be going to Nikon.

I've always thought that manufacturers who use "warranty" as a big part of their sell... Might be lacking in quality and they know it.

I read how some guys praise some manufacturers over their warranty service, but really... 'How about selling a product that doesn't break..?

$200 scopes are disposable.

I know what you mean but I think Leuopold's warranty is from another time and has nothing to do with the modern cheap production/replace the whole unit when it fails mentality.
Leuopold repairs when they can and Vortex tends to replace.

The nice thing with a good warranty that doesn't need a receipt is you can buy a used scope for a discount allowing you to get further into the quality range on a limited budget and be covered if there are any issues.

Vortex warranty center is in Guelphs afaik

I bought a Burris ff3 off the EE for a too good to be true price. Turned out it had a scratched lens and a stripped battery cover. Cost $40 to ship ups to Colorado. Got a new unit about 2 months later. Pretty happy about that.

I don't have anything to add to the scope debate, but I always wonder if the best warranty is on the worst stuff. Otherwise, who would buy it? Case in point, my brother had a Chrysler Caravan when his kids were small. They had 4 or 5 transmissions in that thing, all replaced under warranty. The most reliable makes, Toyotas, Audis, whatever, never offer such a good warranty. They don't need to.

So you have a product that doesn't break if you slip and slam it into a rock? Every major manufacturer has a lifetime warranty, the big difference is which ones will cover accidents/user-caused damage (as opposed to manufacturer defects)

If you read the whole thread you would know I am concerned about being able to replace the product without worry when I #### it up because I have terrible luck. I could buy a $3000 scope but its not doing me any more use if I break the damn thing cause it fell over and broke after I leaned it against a tree to glass a tree line.

Right now I am using the cheap scope that comes on a Savage Axis XP, so pretty much anything is a big step up. The Burris and the Vortex seem to have the best warranty (only two who'll replace it no matter what that I can find)

There are claims in this thread that Nikon and Bushnell also offer no-questions-asked warranties now, but I am yet to see that in official writing anywhere.

Thats just the fact that Chrysler doesn't know how to make an automatic transmission...

is this to the original buyer only? or to anyone with your Nikon product including second hand scopes? I dropped your products years ago because of your past warranty of 25 years - big deal...

I only use Leupold as it's lifetime warranty my life time, my kids lifetime & there future kids life time. Plus I can buy someone's older used Leupold second or 3rd hand scope & it still has this same warranty.
Hard to beat that. The turn around time from Korth Group is 2 weeks or less for repair. That is why Leupold's my first choice in optics.

So if Nikon.ca can really step up to the plate & do this or better I might look at there products again.

Can you update please these are great scopes.

Currently we ask that you have the original bill of sale, although it is not 100% required in all cases. This is a case by case basis so I can't use broad strokes on this this one. The warranty is backdated to all Nikon Canada products.

Our turnaround time is generally about 7-10 business days at any one of our three service centers. We do have an online form you can fill out which greatly helps expedite the process for the service team once they receive your product. However our repair rate is fairly low as I think has been shown on some of the informal polls here on CGN. :)

The full line of P-223, M-233, P-300, M-300, M-308, new P-308 and P-Rimfire are now all available in Canada. A number of our CGN sponsors at the top of the page carry them. I cover the west so if you're interested in a direct location near you please PM me.

Suther, you have spent more than $200 in time researching a your next scope purchase, just go buy a cheapo vortex or used leupold and if you break it either send it in, or in the case of vortex take it to the store you bought it from and they will give you a new one, its really that easy in Canada. Used leupold scopes still have the full lifetime of the scope warranty that Korth has to honor The young Korth that took over from his father, is really not the nicest guy, so customer service has gone down hill, a long ways from the good ole days, that is korth who is the exclussive Leupold warranty guy in Canada, its his problem not Leupolds problem. Chances of you having to send in an older leupold for warranty is pretty slim and they are much much better value for your money than a new cheapo vortex or burris. the older leupolds were great optics. not sure why you are so worried about breaking them, they are tough, are meant to on a rifle, that is meant to be used. these aren't glass figurines.

I think you're chasing a unicorn...
What you're saying is that you're looking for a manufacturer that will replace/repair for free because of damage caused by accident or carelessness...?
I'd be wary of any manufacturer who says they'll replace a scope YOU broke. 'Makes me wonder how much their product is really worth if they can afford to just give 'em away.

Oh, I didn't doubt you, but it's a good warranty, and should be on the website. Glad to hear it's being addressed (I figured it was something like that).

Good news.

Then never buy a vortex, Burris, or Nikon optic because they all have no questions asked warranties.

It's not about the quality of the product it's about the customer experience. This is just another way companies keep their customers returning. It's got nothing to do with the lack of quality.

It's the same as money back guarantees. People buy the product because they know if they are not happy they can get a refund. But very few actually use that guarantee. The guarantee isn't a sign of a bad product, it's the sign of a good company.
