Better than Black Friday, New BLACK GUN now available Nov 24th 2016

any thoughts on a 7.62x39 version?

No simply as the failure rate of the bolts is well known to be very high. Mags are also a bit of a problem although this is getting a little better from a sourcing stand point. Also the 7.62x39 surplus ammo that guys would want to run through the rifle is NOT .308 diameter and our barrel suppliers do not make .312 bore barrels.
At this point we feel it is best to stick with what the rifles design was intended to support.

Rick is this possible? Can you give me a guestimation on cost to do the switch over?

THAT is not only possible, but fairly simple to do. To swap barrels simply means stripping down the lower. You would need some tooling but nothing $200.00 in tools would not cover.
Currently a CFW barrel is $1700.00
For us to swap it over would be 1/2 hours labor or $75.00 on top of the cost of the barrel.

So planing my build, and I am undecided on a stock. Torn between an LMT Sopmod, MFT Minimalist, and Magpul CTR, and possibly the Magpul UBR.

I am strongly leaning towards the Sopmod stock but having concerns over compatibility due to the MV's side charge handle. Magpul UBR also poses the same concern. Any insight?

Pretty sure that the UBR is incompatible with the MH/MV. The Sopmod looks like the Magpul ACS so it would interfere with the side charger, but only while collapsed. It would still work while extended.

Dam, I went from a "base" 3,200 gun to 4,500 !

It's your call, but even the base is great specs. I went over too, but really, the accessories are things I'd have bought anyway and then had to take time to figure out how to put it all together. ATRS is actually saving me time and money by letting me spec the rifle again.

Right on, I hate to ask so many questions but ... If one were to order a 14 Fortis and a 13 inch BCM became available from you. Would it be to late to switch? I think the Fortis is awesome but the BCM may be a touch lighter and it's even awsomer :)

It would depend at what point the change was to be made. IF it is prior to our placing the order with the appropriate manufacturer, not a problem. After the orders are placed is much more difficult.

From the point of ordering from us, if in doubt as to which, you could put a note on the order form as there is room for this stating that you would prefer the BCM assuming we get a favorable response from them. We would then touch base with you prior to placing our order for hand guards. To date we have nothing firmed up with BCM but are optimistic.

I went with the CFW barrel as I have one at home waiting for its action , in .308 and it's awesome . I'm adding the CTR and 14 Fortis . The only change I'd make is a BCM 13 inch handguard if it becomes available .

18.6 cfw standard contour barrel, ATRS brushed SS brake, Ergo Sure grip, KFS Tac Mod stock, black cerakoted, PRI 15" hand guard, .308, Nightforce ATACR 5x25x56.

Most AR15 fore ends will fit. The 1 we know that won't fit without modification is Daniel Defense quad rails with their goofy 6 pack of screws.

"Can we put standard ar15 free float hard guards on this? for example i want to pick up a DD light rail 3, is the install process the same for a ar15? "

The answer is already answered previously in the thread.

From watching videos I think the noveske nsr will work provided the gas block isn't too big on the varmiter and the varmiter can accept the supplied barrel nut piece that secures the nsr. If it is confirmed to work I will order one of these promptly.

Looking at the location of the front trigger pin hole, it looks to match the standard AR15.

If one were to drill the second hole at the back, would it accommodate a standard AR15 trigger group? Would this change the classification of it? Or is there more complication in the lower that specifically disallow this?

It "might" work, or it could destroy the lowers functionality. The latter being the most likely. You WILL also nullify any warranty.
What WILL happen is that you WILL open the door to a reclassification, which will make you MANY ENEMIES within the gun culture.
Part of the reason it achieved NON RESTRICTED legal status is due to the fact that it does NOT accept any AR trigger, just the proprietary trigger group it is supplied with.

Good god, we really are are own worst enemies. LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!!!!

Wish I could see a picture of the gas block to see if it's too large for the noveske nsr or not. I suppose you could always use a slightly shorter nsr and have the gas block slightly protrude out of the handguard but would be nice if it fit under for a pleasant appearance.

As well does it use a standard ar15 barrel nut?
