Beware of Stoeger Canadal!!

hane, the trigger wasn't the missng part, re read the post.

I had ordered a Beretta pistol through a dealer, after 4 months we phoned, nothing, after 6 months we phoned, nothing,,,,, after 8 months we phoned..... nothing.
I finally was in another store picking up bullets for my rifle , looked down through the counter and low and behold a Beretta, just like i'd been waiting for. I asked how the hell they got one when everyone else was still waiting and they explained that they DIDN'T, they were waiting for Stoeger too, they had ordered straight from Italy and gotten it.

Long story short, it was $50 more, I bought it right then and there.
Got tired of getting different b.s. answers regarding months of delays, i could have produced a kid faster than they can get a pistol that they said was available in the u.s.

If you check the other thread Hane is a self-appointed apologist for Stoeger Canada. And in that role his credibility is similar to the Iraqi information minister as the tanks were approaching Baghdad.

"my bad should have read more carefully." but you gotta realize that stoeger is at the mercy of beretta meaning italy deciedes when they get there shipments could be a month could be 6. It really puts alot of pressure on them when customers not stores start to talk poorly about them because as much as they would like to help the single customer they are a distributor, and though it may be quicker for a single customer to order a specific pistol from italy or usa its not quicker when the quanity is 500-1000 pistols . "sorry to hear that you had a long runaround for your gun waiting for a new toy is allways BS"

"Claybuster"
"iam not self appointed anything" STOEGER CANADA has allways been great to me nothing but great customer service and products. allways friendly. i dont claim to say anything on behalf of stoeger canada, but when all i see is stoeger smashing it gets to me because i know there doing a good job and are constantly trying to go out of there way to help people.

who are you to question my credability. you dont even know me.

Here is my story. I recently purchased a Berreta Stampede from Elwood Epps. The gun arrives and the grips are warped and do not fit the frame of the gun. Sqweeze the grips, pinch your hands. I have seen better grips on cap guns at Walmart. I phone Epp's they tell me to phone Stoger and ask for Peter. Epp's tells me they have had all kinds of complaints about the pathetic grips being sold on the gun. Of course Epps tell me this after they sell and ship me the gun. Well the long and short of it is after many many phone calls and messages left for Peter he calls me back. He tells me I am the FIRST guy who has ever compained about the quality of the grips on these guns. Who is lying, Epps or Stoeger. Peter tells me to rerturn the grips to him and he will order a new set. In the meantime I am with out the gun. He then tells me the plastic grips are much better than the wood grips. I know that that is definatley a lie because I have seen many wood gripped Stampede's. I suggested to Peter to send me new grips then I would return the junk ones so that my gun is not tied up for 6 months. He could'nt do that because of Stoger policy. Peter for the most part just said hey too bad.

Stoeger and Peter can kiss my grip. Never agian will I own a Stoeger product.

I've never heard about Stoeger untill seeing this thread, from the breif web search I did all I could find was Stoeger Industries in the US that makes shotguns and some pistols and the Stoeger Canada website (www.stoegercanada.ca found via www.beretta.com) looks like its been under construction since 1997. Are they the same company?

How about Epps?...shouldn't they inspect the guns before they sell them to their customers, especially if there is a well known problem...
After all Epps sold you the gun, right?

Yes I agree 100 % with that. I raised this issue with EPPs and they told me to phone Stoeger. Then they told me that the synthetic grips were junk and that I should just buy the wood grips as that is what everyone else does. When I sugested that Epps should compensate me the difference in price between the 2 grips they just kinda laughed and said thats not how they do business. My problem was with Stoger eventhough I have purchased 9 handguns from Epps. Trust me Epps is in the same ####ter that Stoeger is. I had a similar issue with an H&K purchased through Epps. They short shipped a part for the gun then Epps made me chase the wholesaler for the part. I got it after many phone calls and 3 months. I will not be buying from Epps ever again either, and Stoeger is just a waste of time.

If there is one thing in my expirience that I have learned it's that you never, ever want to put parts on order.

If they don't have it in stock, than I'll look elsewhere. If I have to put stuff on order I'll be waiting indefinately.

Just some thing that comes to my mind. I don't know if it work but worth the time. If you paid by credit card call the dispute center and tell them that the product was defective from start, and you are getting nowhere. It came out of Epps like that and the payment was for a good product, right? You should also make Epps aware that you are dissatisfied and that there is no progress.

I think it is better customer relations if they can accommodate the customer right away. For a few bucks it is much brighter than all this bad advertising. I think this crap of routing clients with defective material to the main vender / importer is BS. Even unreasonable and way out of the norm waiting is BS. Like I said elsewhere, courier is only 3 or 4 days from Europe and regular mail is 10 business days. A lot of businesses are getting the money and not doing all they can to help. I see it all the time at work too.

I know what you are syaing and all however to dispute a charge, return the gun, re-register it, get a conveyence to send it back is a lot of time wasted for not much gain. Cheaper in the long run to bite the bullet and buy the new grips and ##### on here. I will never buy another gun from Epps and I will never, never, never own a Stoeger imported / wholesaled product again. I am talking about lousy service over .25 cents worth of plastic.

If they think it is worth the bad rap they get on the web then I guess they know what they are doing. Just my opinion and it is really not worth much but I suggest that anyone thinking of buying anything STOEGER has to do with to re-think and avoid dealings with Peter or Stoeger. Ellwood Epps is FAMOUS for passing complaints onto the wholesaler on the purchasers dime.

Once Epps sells you a gun ...... your on your own.

Update, after talking to John Mock the Manager at Stoeger Canada about 30 days ago, I explained I had a letter all typed up ready to send to my credit card company to dispute the charges at hand and carefully explained what had transpired in the past several months and why I was disputing the charges. I indicated I was making one last attempt at resolving this issue before sending the letter out to Dispute Resolutions. John listened to my complaint and offered to resolve the issue by instead offering me a set of Burris binoculars with a retail value of about $200.00 as payment, I refused his offer and requested that Stoeger instead just credit my card for the missing part, after a bit more discussion John agreed to just refund the money on my credit card.

Later that day I received notice from a rep at Stoeger Canada confirming a credit card authorization number with the full amount credited for the missing part. Finally three weeks later, the credit showed up in my credit card account.

Am I happy? Hell no. Yes I received my money back but I had to go through all of this $hit which never should have happened in the first place. If you are reading this Stoeger, “Get you freaking a$$ in gear and start treating your customers with some respect“!

End of Story
