I have one. Not sure you can do better for the money.I have been doing a lot of research on the DNT scope, never had the opportunity to look through or touch one. I am currently in the process of building a PRS rifle through Insite Arms and they have recommended TheOne to try. I have used higher end scopes in the past so this is going to be a first using a scope at this price point. I am not sponsored by anyone so its always a battle to raise cash to purchase new gear.
I am hoping this will function adequately for PRS so I can save some cash and eat next week.
Will keep you posted with thoughts and a full review once I am on the range. Fingers crossed.
Is that a ATRS mount? Clears the bottom with room?Well, I had my 7-35x ATACR out on my Tikka/KRG Whiskey rig and the new DNT 7-35x "The One" right beside it on my APC 308. While I acknowledge the as expected Arken-like Turrets, fit and finish, and tracking, I cannot equate the glass of the two optics. I don't even find them close, which you would kind of expect when comparing glass costing $5K to a product costing well under $1K. My ATACR maintains a bright, crisp image regardless of magnification, whereas the DNT scope's image becomes noticeably darker from 25x all the way to 35x. "The One" seems to function at its peak at approximately 25x, although it was certainly useable throughout the full magnification range. In addition to being brighter and crisper at high magnification, the ATACR shows colours much more brightly than the DNT glass does. Aside from the glass/coatings, I'd honestly have to say that there isn't very much to separate the two optics aside from their weight. The ATACR is 37.3 oz as compared to "The One's" 42 oz heft. I realize that 5 oz is not a huge amount, but 1/3 of a lb is still 1/3 lb extra on your rifle. Who knows though? Perhaps the DNT scope is more durable than the Nightforce optic, although the latter have rightfully earned a reputation as being bomb-proof. I won't be the one to test the comparative durability of both scopes!
All things considered, I am quite happy with the performance of the DNT scope thus far. Assuming that it retains zero and an Arken-equivalent degree of durability, I will remain happy to keep it on my APC 308. That said, let's not create false expectations - "The One" is NOT a NF ATACR-killer. It just isn't. For $810 (before tax) however, it is a lot of scope!

Just for everyone's info - That's actually not a "purge" screw - it's the erector spring's plug - and grinding it, nullifies your warranty. NOT a good idea should something ever happen to your scope, and you wanted to get it warranty repaired or replaced.Spuhr SP-4002. I ground the bottom "corner" of the Purge Screw to fit flush with the top surface of the mount. The Purge Screw's holes can still be used for its removal. I wasn't overly concerned with resale value on an $800 scope.
Did you buy this from me? If you did, I can assure you the outer box was 100% undamaged before shipping. I don’t ship out product if the outer boxes are damaged.Received mine today. One of the scope boxes had damage to the outside. Scope looked undamaged. Had me worried but no damage and everything worked right. Unknown if this was in transit or prior to shipping. I didn’t see corresponding damage to the outside box containing the two scope boxes. Doesn’t matter to me as the box is likely to get tossed anyways. Just something that I did notice and originally caused some concern.
A Quick Look and it was exactly like I expected. I am a fan of Arken EP5, discovery ED scopes etc. This one is right up there with my 5-25 EP5 scopes. Only I like the knurling better. Optics looked good. It’s not a S&B , tier 1 etc scope replacement. But it is a very nice and usable scope at below those levels. I really like the big view much like a Leupold. Pleasant scope sight picture. It hits a sweet spot for price/performance. Looking forward to putting these on some rifles.

Anyway, glad you like the scope - they are nicer than the EP5 scopes in almost all aspects.
Have fun with your DNT!!!
Thanks - can't "match" your handle here with an order name. LOL. Anyway, 100% guaranteed the boxes were NOT damaged before shipping. And you would have seen how the scope boxes are bubble wrapped inside brand new 200lb crush weight outer boxes. I do NOT use flimsy packaging. Strange you mention the black scope box was damaged, but not the outer shipping box....Yup bought it from shooting warehouse. Looks like the price went up, which I figured would happen and motivated me to buy. Glad I did.![]()

Thanks for clarifying. The couriers probably dropped the box flat on the ground. Luckily there's enough bubble wrap around the scope boxes and foam inserts around the scope. It wouldn't damage the scopes, as they can withstand pretty heavy recoil.I took another look. Outer box was in excellent shape no damage and looked new. The one out of two top of the scope box had damage consistent with something hitting it. Centre slight puncture with crack marks going away from the centre.
Closer inspection. The damage seems to have originated from the inside out. The top turret of the scope caused the damage to the scope box. Again no damage to the scope. Not worried about it. Just had a scare when I opened the box.
My current theory:
Mine came mint, super nice packaging with the scope and mount, probably one of the better packaging jobs I've seen recently, Thank you Robbie! Thanks - can't "match" your handle here with an order name. Thanks for the info. Glad you got it in great condition. I try my best to pack as well as I can. Have fun - they are great scopes.Mine came mint, super nice packaging with the scope and mount, probably one of the better packaging jobs I've seen recently, Thank you Robbie!

Waiting on my build from EM precision to put it on and try it out.
Arken Canada don't bring in the EP5 Gen 2 scopes. We do have the DNT 7-35x56 in stock in MOA and MIL. The DNT 7-35x56 scope has a more modern reticle with 0.2 MIL graduations, a fully illuminated reticle and looks a little nicer "cosmetically" in my opinion. When are you getting the Arken EP5 Gen 2 735?
Thanks for the order Jeff. It shipped yesterday. Enjoy.Just placed my order yesterday! Can't wait to try this scope out!
