Bill c21 shotgun issue?

There was never an issue if one knew anything about shotguns and how chokes are designed and measured per SAMM 1 requirements and they were never on a list. Gun owners who didnot understand this wanted everyone to bleed put them there in their minds ONLY

Cheers

Baloney. No where does the law say anything about SAAMI. Also, if you know things about shotguns, then you know about overbores.

The RCMP has an opinion. Ultimately it will be up to a judge to decide. Bill Blair tweets don't mean jack squat.

What the Right doesn't want to do is help those who don't need it.

You can't just give it to ONLY the people who need it though, there will always be people who try to take advantage. If you try too hard to restrict who can access services, people who need those services will be excluded. The Left says Okay, well lets make things broad enough that everyone who needs it can get it and then deal with the cheaters after the fact, while the Right says lets make everything narrow enough that if you absolutely don't need it you'll not get it and then we don't have to deal with cheaters (despite that fact that there will ALWAYS be people who cheat the system.)

Agreed. There will always be people who try to game the system. That doesn’t mean you design the system to cater to the thieves.

Ya from the guy that doesn't even have balls enough to post what part of this country they live in and been here since 2006 with 4 posts in the last month PRICELESS

His monthly post count is what qualifies his comment as accurate or not? Bwahaha.

Sure you did. I earned my pension and no IDIOTIC PC government was going to take it and paid more in tax 30 years ago than some 20 something pays today
I pay my own way
You have a syndrome also but I don't want to be banned and quote it
Time to move on from this foolishness and yes my wingmasters are precious especially now with remington gone and NOT for sale at least you grasped that

Let’s get something straight. You never paid into a pension when you made your CPP payments each month. It has always simply been a tax going into general revenue. And the OAP paid out to those coming before came from general revenue. With a rapidly expanding population Boomers like you bought into a Ponzi scheme. And when growth of earning age citizens slows while the number of retirees skyrockets, well, you probably know how Ponzi schemes end up.

But instead of understanding the problem, despite it being well known and regularly refered to in the news over the last 30 years, you would prefer to stick your head in the sand and double down on your entitlements. Classic Liberal Voter.

“ I am entitled to my entitlements!” The plaintive call of the native liberal. (Davidus Dingwallus).

Try shaking your fist at the sky. Bwahaha. Old man Simpson.

WRONG I was a federal employee and paid into PSSA if you have a clue and even know what that is canada pension and old age was just my pocket change
You think you are so smart but cannot even see how limited you are ( I used nice words)
NOW I am done

I'm gonna pretend we're on the same page, and back away from this discussion.

How disappointing Suther. You made some bold claims about the differences between the Left and the Right and when I asked for concrete examples of policy and practice from the Leftists that was more successful than that tried by the Right, you obfuscated and then decided to withdraw. That is such a common experience when discussing policy with Leftists. And it has nothing to do with whatever "style" I might be using. Bold claims never backed by concrete examples of success. Only justifications. And mumbling.

There probably is a lot we agree on. Certainly we can agree on the remarkable ineffectiveness of the policies of our governments (both parties) in solving most problems. But in my lifetime (I'm 64) what I see happening in Canada and elsewhere, is the failed polices of the Left recycled through media and universities back into credible solutions. When they fail every time. Usually with tragic (see USSR, China, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, etc) results. I thought you'd do better.

Did you seriously just post that? The specific topic, which you raised, was the Tories increasing the qualifying age limit on OAP. Not any other pension. In your scrambling to try to disprove and discredit me, you have just completely missed the boat. Better to remain silent and let other think you may be foolish than to speak and confirm it for them.

The fact that you were a federal employee does not surprise me. Probably have a tough go in the private sector.

Wisdom has been chasing you but you have always been faster!

Here we go again. Not biting this time. There is only one true way to define a bore and SAMM1 outlines it and EVERY shotgun manufacturer follows it
Some thing called industry standard and not naive
Jesus may come back to earth soon also

Shoot your shotguns boys and enjoy them and worry when there is something to worry about not BS

The problem is for that the better part of 40 years the rcmp did not follow Saami for bore measurements.

And even under the saami rules some back bired and custom 12 gauges will steel be over 20mm.

But until police get issued a pocket bore guage it wont really matter if its captured or not because the law is unenforceable no matter whose interpretation you want to use.

Dont forget this is a ponzi scheme backed by the public treasury who has the power to conjur infinite curremcy out of thin air.

All ponzi schemes eventually collapse. The only question is whether the social welfare entitlement ponzi scheme known as public pensions will take the national fiat currency of the federal government down with it.

Not quite infinite. Just ask the Venezuelans.

Unenforceable .... hmmmmm ... ?

Here is just one scenario:

You are going on a wilderness canoe trip with you family for 4 weeks. At one point the neighbors call the police and say they are worried because they have not seen anybody for a couple of weeks and they heard strange noises coming from your property. The police will try to reach you on your cell phone .... but you are off grid. Because they can't reach anybody .... they force the door to your house and search the house .... its called a wellness check. And during that wellness check ... they find some ammo that was not stored properly .... Lets say you had intended to take some ammo along for that wilderness trip but you forgot it on the kitchen counter .... As a result they confiscate all the guns and charge you with improper storage of ammunition. And the RCMP lab (and prosecutor) have nothing better to do .... but to check all your guns and to see if one might be above 20mm. And lets say one of your guns was overbored .... and the RCMP for one reason or another has changed its stance on shotguns and bore size .... What do you think is going to happen? Yeahhhhh ....

I have read all the posts of this thread and have a hard time believing anyone of sound mind believes anything any government says. They always have lied and always will. The gun registry will solve crimes and reduce the crime rate and will only cost taxpayers a million dollars. HAHAHA Justhim Turdeau promissed no elections during the pandemic?? Howd that turn out after extending the free handouts for another eighteen months. Bought election by the mass of stupidity, thats how. Inflation not affected? Seriously? Have you checked the prices of a 2X4 or a dozen eggs or gas lately? You retired at 46 but cry about the pension being raised by two years. WOW and then brag about things being pocket change. UN fucxing believable man. PS MANY ARE GLAD UR DONE. Canvasback is one of the only ones that makes any sense and sees the big picture of what our great leader has done for us. You cant hand out free money for three years without someone paying for it!! As far as guns go, with the mentality of most, they will do whatever they want and lie and change the rules and the stupid sheep will follow and turn in their beloved 870s or whatever. Theyre coming for all guns and its time to make a stand

Ya I am wrong and I will die with my shotguns any BETS
What is wrong with you guys do you want all guns gone. I sure think so
We have enough problems with losing certain designs of guns and now our handguns to even worry about such BS and that is what it is PURE BS
If they wanted my semi shotguns or these what some to believe choke tubed banned shotguns they would have been on that list
See those guns make money for the government hunting HUGE money so are going no where my AR makes them nothing
YA the justice will go against SAMM1. IN YOUR DREAMS

Read this link and then tell me they will challenge them and win NOT and SAMM1 is accepted world wide. Their members pockets are beyond DEEP. Even the Liberals are not that stupid

The Sporting Arms and Admmunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI) is an association of the nation’s leading manufacturers of firearms, ammunition and components. SAAMI was founded in 1926 at the request of the federal government.

Out of curiousity, would any of these companies be Canadian owned. When our government banned how many guns? Did Saami have any affect with their deep pockets and the liberals not wanting to mess with them ? OOOH thats it ! They didnt give a rats ass did they? OOh and another point I just noticed is on this powerfull list seems to be some of these companies that had their guns banned here. WAKE up man theyre coming for ur beloved 870s and all guns owned by lawfull sheep!!

Nope. I'm working on not fighting with people who make bad faith arguments, it seems you don't want to have a real discussion you just want to get your Gotcha! moment.

Nobody is advocating for a communist dictatorship (so comparisons to all the countries you just listed are invalid), and the idea that ALL socialist movements end that way is not just wrong, its either ignorant or purposely misleading. Many European countries are more socialist than Canada is and they're doing just fine.

But you want policy, I'll give you just one, brought in by the Liberals in recent times: Legalization of Marijuana. It created a bunch of jobs (growing, processing, distribution, sales) it created tax revenue, and it undercut the black market in both volume AND price - nobody I know who smokes buys it from the black market anymore, and the legal stuff is nearly half the price the black market stuff was before legalization, so while the black market certainly still exists the amount of money criminal organizations are making off marijuana has dropped significantly.

But No. You're right. NO Leftist policies ever work. Public healthcare is a disaster, if you can't afford health insurance then #### you for being poor. Public schooling is a waste of money, those kids should be working the fields by age 11. Paid holidays? #### that, you shouldn't get paid for time you're not working! Paid SICK DAYS?! WTF garbage is that?! Just don't' get sick, duh! MATERNITY LEAVE!?! Total waste of taxpayer money! Besides, women shouldn't be working JOBS, they belong in the kitchen!

Subsidies for Oil, Gas, and Mining Companies. Thats where its at! Thats what will make the day-to-day life of Canadians better!
