Black Aces Tactical - Final Review.

I am having issues with double feeding with the ten round and the drum mag

Wow, I actually thought the drum mags might be better for this... sorry to hear.

You need to surgically ensure the shells are properly inserted, visually verify rim placement for each. Also, if the spring tension starts getting tight, stop. Shells inserted on a tight spring will suffer a double feed on recoil.
I also experienced double feeds, but as long as you don't load many (or use only the 5-rnd mags) you shouldn't experience any.

You also cannot transport loaded mags because a rim might slip over... so best to load and use from the bench.
Unfortunately this defeats the purpose of a mag-fed in the first place and now you can see where the whole "using a gun for bear-defense" comes in. These guns you would not use.

Far greater depreciation, I'd say. As far as functionality, they both appear to be spotty in reputation.

Indeed.

I've also owned two of the Chinese mag-fed clones and they were both POS's, but at least they were priced accordingly. The Chinese ones suck because everything is "a copy" including the trigger group (which were garbage-terrible.)

The Black Aces Tactical at least uses original Mossberg Trigger groups for instance as well as other parts, however, I'd put both guns in the same camp since the price that the BAT's command is outrageous (factor in exchange rate, shipping, import, magazine costs and options) for what you are getting, in my opinion of course.

If I had spent $500 flat for my BAT in basic config I'd have been ok with purchase. $1500 though after everything is a hard pill to swallow. I'm out of the Black Aces Tactical game, but will still watch the updates.
I hope one day they accept unmodified Saiga mags as that'd be the game-changer.

I did contact BAT and they have been very helpful so far. They immediately offer ed to ship the mags back to sort them out. Since I'm in Canada that isn't really an option so they are sending me what I need to fix the issue myself. I'm pretty happy with the customer service and they seem willing to do what is needed to solve my issue.

Works just fine for me, and for my many, many other customers. But then again they also didn't completely destroy their shotgun and then have the nerve complain about it. Oh by the way, I got your email and I won't be extorted.

Really.. maybe if you had approached me with any concern you may have instead of demanding money in exchange for a favorable opion. Good day, sir

Not surprising to me as the "you are lucky to have us" mentality for gun stores and such is prevalent in Calgary. This guy is sadly more the norm than the exception, from what I experience. This BAT piece of work needs a lesson on manners and service from Wanstalls or Wolverine.

I'm still keeping my hopes up for the Adaptive Tactical mag-feds.

The 10-round drum magazines are quite expensive. But if they work well, maybe they're worth it.

Due to the typo, I assume you wrote this in haste and maybe a little defensive? A follow up with some explanation of any upgrades or QC would probably go a long way in this situation? As you can tell there are a few potential customers here that could be persuaded with some assurances that the issues.. have been tended to? My initial thought was they were a bit rushed to get them to the customers hands? It would have been a commendable response and I assumed you were going to be working that angle. This would have been reasonable to some (maybe not the OP but the anxious buyers waiting for this post).... 'Merica

Thanks also to G37. Great pics and reasonable review for sure. A costly item should be scrutinized. It is a firearm. It should function for the purpose it was designed.

I hope you try to manage your PR bro.

I'm curios as well ..... I'd like to hear more from the manufacturer about his perspective on the issues described . How come you've gone quite ? If your a little embarrassed by what you wrote , don't be , we've all said or wrote things in haste before . So now's your chance , I'm listening ( or reading ) .....

This BAT dink sure shot himself in the foot on this one scuttling all his Canadian sales. I enjoy coming back and reading this thread now and then.
